70s are a 32 inch tire. This thread is mainly just specifically about 285/75 r17. Which is a 34 inch tire

Exactly. Not to be rude, but this thread is and inquiry for 285/75/17. Not 285/70. Trying to keep it on topic, as every thread about the 34 inch tire gets derailed by 285/70 posts.

Not a 3rd gen but I have been running this size for awhile on my second gen. It is a great size. I ran it with a 2-3" midtravel setup with stock fenders. Same suspension with fiberglass fenders, and now have long travel. I had to do the body mount chop and beat the pinch weld back pretty far to get full clearance. If you are just driving on the street you probably wont need those things are much.

It’s looking like the bilstein combo I’m looking at is going to be much less than the fox stuff I originally planned. I’ll give it a shot what’s the worst that could happen lol

Whoa what ?! What are your lift details?

    I’m actually running the bilstein 6112/5160 combo on my wife’s 2018 4Runner. We love it!0991BB75-E9B7-4FEC-96B6-52001C441474.jpgB3D0CBE1-FEBB-4C8B-A427-5E469639464A.jpg 656D1927-B942-46F0-BA23-17F892ABF565.jpg

Not picking on @dbbowen2 but Lift doesn’t matter.

The suspension will compress wither backing out of your driveway, hitting speed bumps at the mall, or on the rocks. This effectively neutralizes any lift you install.

Wheel offset, UCA, and alignment are far more important.

Great! I’m just weary of the height I’m going to get out of them to fit the 34s. What size tires does she have on her 4Runner?

Oh I completely agree, I am shooting for 4 degrees caster, camburg UCAs, aggressive pinch weld hammering, aggressive cmc, and the SEMA pro wheels. I am really just trying to minimize the actual cutting I’m going to have to do. I’m thinking I need enough static lift to make it so the tire doesn’t contact on the uptravel on the coil over

For total chaos uca, what offset do I need to clear without running spacers for 285 75 17? I was looking at the method roost 17x8.5 0 offset. The uca is my only worry as I'm doing a cmc and my front bumper is aftermarket. I'm on 2.5 kings with add a leaf.

I am currently on the fence between 33" and 34". Going with the Wildpeak A/T3W, I obviously want 34s but I'm less than excited to have to run E rated tires on my truck. With the 33s I can still run the P metric instead of the LT tires. The E rated 10 ply tires are overkill and super heavy so I'm trying to decide.

Hey man, I ended up going with a set of rrw wheels because they were cheap. But they didnt have 0 offset in stock so I ended up going -12. Rrw told me 0 offset works, a shop called rpm in socal said 0 offset should work also. I was just worried that 0 offset wouldnt clear Tc uca because my friend said his wheels wouldnt work. But he has those jba uca, which isnt a round tube. His are flat and protrude out more. I hope that helps and good luck.
