I would think that for 1200 bucks you're getting a timing belt at least

Im the same... Ive done all the things on the list recently myself. If you break these things apart at different shops you can also save alot of money.

    No spark plugs wires??
They probably should have been done,
If you look on the wires there is actually a date when they were made, FYI

I replaced the timing belt in 2008 at 71,944 miles and in '08 it costed me $1660.82. This included water pump and all the side stuff with the belt, and a 75,000 mile service too.
I currently have 139,977 miles on the truck. So only 68,033 miles on this belt. You're supposed to change them out at 90,000 but I do shit early.

    To many, but never done
I use the dealership threw my insurance company.
I also use them when I know them personally.
Majority of time I do it myself unless it's something that's out of my skill set...

Seals, tensioners, idler pulleys, water pump, cams/crank seals. Fan clutch no, but it's fine.

I would almost say thats fine. timing belt job on my sisters acura integra was around 900 bucks back then. I still take my moms camry into toyota when I'm stump and have no time and the local dealer has been very good to me. Parts department back then was giving me problems and I don't know why but after 4 yrs and coming back they now have new staff and have been good to me.

I think you need to check out another toyota dealer for prices to see if they can beat.

I just had my timing belt done by the dealer last month. He does work with me for a better price.
    Included all
    new pulleys
New belts, supercharger, timing, power steering and AC belt
    New antifreeze
    New water pump
    New Asian fan bracket bearing
    New cam seals
    New crank seal
    New thermostat
And cost me 1100 and change.

Don't forget my timing belt job was in 2008 and I did it at Putnam Toyota in Burlingame, not San Francisco Toyota where I went yesterday. Now in 2019 I'd probably have to pay over $2000 for what I had done in '08. I figure it's the area I live in. You're lucky.

I have never heard of a dealership renting cars. What state are you in and is this common?

Just got back today, I'll bring the Highlander back to the dealer tomorrow... We're in SC...
I learned this dealer rents vehicles through their ads, they don't always mention it.
The Highlander turned out to be a 2018 with 8,000 miles on it, $60.00 a day flat fee. Cars are
$35... when I was there I noticed a really cool looking very blue Toyota 2 door car... it was
an "86"... I wouldn't mind renting one of those for $35 a day for some future trip...

Thats unheard of but hey, gotta bring in revenue somehow. They probably sell it as a pre-own afterwards, probably around 60 or 80k miles.

This. San Francisco Toyota now has "Toyota Rent-A-Car". In the past they had a partnership with Hertz across the street on Geary Blvd. but now they just rent out their own product. They have a used car lot on the next block from the service center and there you'll see a bunch of trade-ins of other brands, but mainly a bunch of Toyotas they probably rented out too.
