Saw it Friday afternoon...12/18/09-cuz I had nothing better to do....man am I glad I did...I thought it was great. Don't show up late as you'll need the beginning movie clips to use for getting use to putting on the 3d glasses. Not really all that violent and very little sex...would definitely let a 12 year old or above watch it. I will buy it when it comes out...

I thought it was alright. Story was a bit lame. Did anyone elses eyes hurt after the movie? My eyes starting hurting about 2 hrs into it.

Either way FWIW if you plan on ever seeing this movie I would definately say see it in the Theatre, because you wont get the same experience at home. Graphics/Special Effects made it worth the money.

Do you wear glasses? My wife had to wear her 3d glasses over her prescription glasses and not only did her eyes hurt after the first two hours she had a pretty good headache.:p

I thought the movie was amazing. I went to go see it first Friday night and even ended up going to see it again on Saturday with a different group of people.

I recommend seeing this in 3D... theres an option to see it w/o but you miss the whole experience... plus its not a cheesy 3D movie where things are done purely for the effect...

The humans were the aliens, not the indigenous people of the planet.

I saw it on IMAX 3D and was worried it was going to be too fantasy oriented but was pleasantly surprised.

Did anyone else notice the pilfering of music from "Titanic" but with a little tribal flair mixed in?

I liked it. It's basically Dances with Wolves with Aliens instead of Indians

Yep, 3D is the way to go on this movie, way cool and not goofy.

Avatar is now the #2 top grossing movie of all time. Behind James Cameron's other film..Titanic.

I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD and BluRay before I see it again.
