    Just a random thought.
Who's rolling early 2nd gens, daily, non daily, family cruiser, beach cruiser, whatever?
    miles?
desire to upgrade to newer or different?
    Photos welcome

I have 138K on my 2005 with a brand new frame as of 1.5 yrs ago.
ive been toying around with the idea of getting a 4runner with a baby on the way but I keep finding ways to use the bed as of recent...

I also have my brothers R32 for the week so driving that animal makes me want to keep the truck now and find another GTI like i used to have or a fun family sedan so I can have best of both worlds.

I've got an 06, which is about to get sliders, new TRD wheels, Fox suspension, and a RTT. I've been intrigued by some of the fancier stuff in the late second gen Taco's, but with only 159k on mine I have no reason to get rid of her. That and my emotional attachment to my particular truck means I could never get rid of her.

Mine's an early 09. Not qute ten years yet, but soon enough lol. At this point I have zero desire to upgrade to a newer truck. I've looked at the F150s and the Silverado's over the last 4 years I've owned this truck, wanting a full size and a V8 but they just aren't up to par. Trucks got 114k on it, and totally problem free. Still a joy to drive. I think the only truck I'd trade it for would be a near perfect 2004-06 Tundra 4X4 with the 2UZ V8 but those are incredibly hard to find, espescially when you aren't looking very hard. I took a 2016 tacoma with the new 3.5 home when they came out, to try it. I brought it back two days later, and told my buddy I'd keep my 2009 Lol. Love my speedway blue!

2006 OR, just passed 110k. Long way to go. It's my DD, but i commute on a train so it's only about 5 miles roundtrip/day. So i guess it's more beach cruiser/ weekend warrior vehicle. I've thought about getting a newer 2nd gen, or something low and fast (A4), but i have too many good memories now I won't part with it until it rusts out haha....

I have an 05 DCSB with 107k miles. I just put a full OME suspension on yesterday and it's being aligned RIGHT NOW! Pictures forthcoming.

I bought it when my wife and I found out she was pregnant with our first child and I realized my two door, 1-to beater wasn't going to cut it anymore.

When I bought it at the end of 2009 there were 45k miles on the odometer and paid $17K at the time, which was a steal!

There is no reason to ditch the DCSB right now because a baby is on the way. You'll have plenty of room in the backseat for a long time to come.

If you had 2-3 teenagers that would be a different story.

Not 2nd Gen related but when I had my 14 year old 1st Gen extended cab. Before buying my 15 I looked at a 1st Gen double cab. I'm sure glad I bought the 15.

My buddy has an 06 with 180k. It's been solid till about a week ago. Starting issues. New fuel pump, new fuel press regulator. Now he's ordering new injectors.

Yep. I have two sons, 6yr and 2yr and we do everything in my truck.

This fall, we packed my 6yr old, two of his buddies (all in booster seats), buddies Dad, my two dogs, and all the gear we needed for two days of camping.

There is more than enough room for everyone. But as Shwaa stated, when the boys get older, I'll probaby switch to a half ton to get more backseat room.

Nowhere near 10 years old, but I have 80K on my 2014 so far and I've been pleased. I drool at 4Runners and 3rd Gen Tacos, but after test driving a T4R it's just not enough better to get rid of my current vehicle. As such I'm hoping to drive it to 500K.

I just saw your edit. We are in the same boat man. First baby is coming in January. My wife has a 4Runner and we talked about selling the Tacoma for a used sedan (A4) or sportwagon (BMW/Volvo). I lost the 3rd car "discussion" haha. I'm not worried about the baby in the Taco, especially with the 4 doors. I also have a Fold-a-cover hard tonneau so storage is covered. Might be a good option for you if you don't have one.

I also sold me 1.8 jetta a few years back which i miss driving around. As my wife says, you will always want more cars haha

Mine's only 9 years and 3 months old (9/07 NUMMI production), so not quite there. But it just turned 67K miles so here's to hopefully a ton more if I can keep the the iron oxide under control.

Just got my '06 DCSB TRD OR last month. Has 166K on it and although I had to dump a ton of money into it (long story about having a mechanic inspect your vehicle before purchasing, etc.), I love this thing. Sold my 2013 Ford Fusion off so this is my daily driver, off road vehicle, liquor store runner and hot date picker-upper.

I specifically got the doublecab because I've got two kids (girls, 10 and 5) so I had to have something I could take them in.
Was looking for a 2nd gen T4R but it was just too hard to find one in this market (Phoenix). Glad this truck found me.
