    Check build thread!
255/85/16 is best imo. Tall and skinny for the win!! Unless we’re taking about something else.

My likes are probably different than yours (maybe my age). I ran 285/75R/16 KO2s mostly on roads until I wore them down below penny-test acceptable range. When I bought truck lightly used, these are the tires the prior owner chose. Was never happy with these large heavy LT tires, especially with snow and ice. Got around 17 or 18 mpg most of the time. I downsized to 265/75/16s last week (Kuhmo AT52s). Size and look feels right. Truck drive is more responsive. I expect my gas mileage will go up with lighter P rated tires. Snow coming soon…we shall see.

Those look great! What is your wheel offset and are those the TRD Pro's or the FSW's?

Build what you want if you want 285s , plan on lift , CMC, upper control arms , and a little trimming , Toyota dealers do it all the time
so if you have the $$$ and want to do it , do it right and enjoy it . I went with a 32" so no need for a cab mount chop but it did need a lift, upper
Control arms , and a little trim which you don't notice .

    - Lifetime average = 14.6. Highway 17. City 10
    - You'll always want to go bigger, I've done 265/70-16 -> 265/75-16 -> 285/70-17 -> 295/70-17 -> 35/12.5-17 tomorrow. had the truck 3 years, first words out of my mouth was "2" lift at max, and 265/75s and I'm happy". Boy was I wrong. Lol.
    - With nonadjustable UCAs, I rubbed on the cab mount. Cab Mount Relocation took care of that. Pinch welds beat back and fender liners tossed.
    - I personally haven't noticed, I drive slow anyways but I've never been looking for more power on the trails.

I think you'll be fine with 285s. At least a cab mount chop would probably be your best bet for no rubbing issues.

I thought long and hard between my (C load) 265/75/16 Duratracs, and 285/75/16.

You are now into an E load tire, which just isn't necessary in a mid size truck, no matter how much you load, or tow. Then there is the rubbing.......

I have Toyo AT3's, 285/75/16's on OEM rims, 1.25" spacers, SPC uca's, 2.5" front & 3" rear lift, cab mount chop. No rubbing...ever. Oh yeah and KDMax tune for sure!

I'm an old guy and, I've had 35" tires once and all others have been 33" for moderate off-roading (fishing/camping/hunting) not a "serious" off roader here. IMHO, 33's will get you into and out of a LOT of places. Further, the difficulty/cost curve goes up SIGNIFICANTLY on these trucks over 33" . So, for a modest investment, I have a truck that looks super cool, rides great, goes anywhere I want to go, is 100% reliable, is juuuuuust powerful enough, and gets crappy mileage (16-17 to and from work). I'm mostly happy...for an old guy.

No, it’s not stock, for the tire fitment I had to do a 2 inch lift in the front 2 inch in the back with add a leaf , I have SPA upper control arms at 2° caster … once everything installed I did in alignment with a 3.7° caster so I don’t have to remove my mudguards or do a cab mount chop.

absolutely no rubbing on full lock or off-road

after putting on the 285, I’ve been seeing a lot of pizza cutters, doesn’t look too bad at all, definitely keeps away from the headache I had to deal with

yes sir, I pretty much have a close, set up to yours, well worth it, I’m glad I didn’t have to do a cab mount chop. 33s are probably the biggest I’ll go ., It looks good rides good anything more would probably be overkill for me.

What, rubbing? I don’t have that here. Yes, 285E load is a tad bit overkill, heavy tire, but I’m very happy with it. 265 with a lift looks terrible to me. Looks good only when it’s stock height in my opinion.
I was able to fit the tires in with absolutely no rubbing for flex, offloading, I have no cab mount chop and I even still have my mud guards!!!

thank you for the info. I have SPC uca and I was able to throw the caster forward, no cab mount chop and still have my mud guards thanks to adjustable Uca!!
Finally took it off. Roading went into full flex would not one rub.
