    True dat! My Dad is a retired GS-11 and fought hard to get there. He was a Team Leader (Team Leader = supervisor with no authority) and worked for the DoD (Army) for 32 years. The DoD is definitely graded way lower than many other sections/branches. I work for the EPA and I'm a GS-13 and supervise no one but me. My first federal job was with the DoD (Air Force) and I was a GS-11 with 13 people working for me (11 military and 2 civilians). Not worth the hassle...
