Started out humping a mortar baseplate at Ft. Benning as a Private/PV1 and finished up 30 years later a LTC/O-5 with a Battalion Command.
3 big wars and several little ones...;)
Would not change a single day of it....absolute best professional decision I ever made.
100% believe every Officer should be Enlisted first...have some great lifelong friends who are West Point and ROTC but that's just how I feel.
Thanks everyone for doing their part.

    Maybe not on TW.

I believe the President is the Commander with the highest rank and pay.... (although, I'm not sure on pay)

I thank all of you for your service.
My Father flew the P-47, 1 brother a Marine on the USS Constellation, 1 brother on the USS White Plains. Me, I elected not to enlist, draft was ended when I came of age only needed to register. I often wonder if I missed.

    Oh look, another mod....
Warrant Officers are often over looked for a variety of reasons. Back when I was at Benning and fresh out of Ranger school, I ran into a CW5 (no shit, an actual "Eagle"), but I didn't know he was a CW5. All I saw was a silver bar with a skinny little black bar.

I thought to myself "Damn, what a really old Lieutenant! He must not care about making rank at all!" Then I saw a SF patch on his shoulder and he was triple tab'd. Turns out he was an ODA team leader.

Well yeah, it was true when I was an E-1 and still true when I was an O-5. I did have a CW5 try to lecture me on why a W1 was not a chief, but I just assumed he didn’t get his 9 hours of sleep that night.
