Bought a 2016 Toyota Tacoma DC 4X4 back in December and it's been great so far.

It came with the 3 months free Sirius radio will will expire soon.

I just realized today that you can play Amazon Music thru the Bluetooth feature.

For those of us that are not tech geniuses and have Amazon Prime, the Amazon Music is free with Prime. Down load the Amazon Music app and you are set.

Of course you will have data charges but you have another option and can still have a digital music.

    Mostly stuff I built.
Pandora, unlimited data and Bluetooth don't see much point in any more.

Wow that is awesome .... I am really really old because I have unlimited data and Amazon Prime.

Now if I can just get my razer flip phone to connect .... and paint one of my teeth blue .... then I will have a phone with a blue tooth ... LOL

Canada needs to get in on this unlimited data on cell phones.... Or I'm going to send my pet moose into the telus store to rage quit. Bloody ridiculous...

Just a thought, I live at the most 15miles from Sumas washington border... What if I bought an American sim card and data plan that was a ton cheaper... You think I could pick up reception for an unlimited data plan?

I broke my phone a couple of days ago and had to resort to satellite radio for a couple of hours until I could get to a backup. Unfortunately (unsurprisingly?) I found it to be pretty useless. The dense forests of the Pacific Northwest do not make for great reception.

Indeed, I purchased a portable Sirius radio for a shop I worked for a few years ago. After a month or two no one else was impressed and no one wanted to chip in for the subscription. So I cancelled it and used the head unit for target practice. However I can't/won't do that to my truck

I'm actually pondering shorting their stock.....why pay for sirius - even if you can get them down to $60 a year - when I can get apple music for $10 month and listen to almost any song ever made that is integrated perfectly with SIRI eyes free.

I suppose if you're a Stern fan or any of their other talk radio stuff it may make sense..but that has to be a small segment.

And from what I've heard - if one is able to lean on them for a big discount, Stern is excluded as well as the sports and PC access

That all works if you live near a city. The problem with this approach is if you live out in the sticks, phone coverage is non-existent a lot, no matter what Verizon coverage maps show. (But then trees can block the satellite service at times too, but usually just for a second or two). Satellite radio still has it's limited place in rural society. My guess is it will be out of business in 5 years though.

Seeing as we can't benefit from unlimited data like our southern friends just yet, I subscribe to Spotify premium and it offers offline download (to my S6). I currently have about 30-playlists (kinda lazy :p). But IMO its worth it.

Unless they put more satellites in orbit and increase coverage.

Slightly off topic but does anyone think entune will get an update to support ok Google? I'm pretty disappointed I can't tell my phone to play certain songs from my steering wheel yet my wife can do so with her iPhone... I suppose the ONLY option is yelling at my phone while it's on the charging pad to use the ok Google feature with the screen off. I want buttons damnit!

I did this with slacker radio but I'm too lazy to curate my own playlist and I download ALOT of TV shows onto my phone so I never have room for music :( damn Samsung S6edge doesn't have expandable memory. I need to hardwire in an old phone or something

My subscription ran out Jan 1. But I took their 5 months for $30 offer. I don't think I'll renew again though, I just use Bluetooth and Spotify more than anything

My biggest gripe with satellite in this truck is that it has an XM tuner only - you can't pick up any Sirius channels, which are the ones I like.

You can get the sirius channels, just gotta pay for em. You also have to negotiate hard or they'll try to charge the crap outta you.

because not everyone has Unlimited Data and to constantly listen to music via phone, you're asking for 9-20gb depending how much you drive. Which comes out to triple the amount of $9.99 for XM mostly music plans.

I have been a Sirius subscriber for well over 10 years and I do listen to my fair share of Pandora and Spotify, Stern is the only thing saving my Sirius subscription to be honest.
