97,300 as of today. I'm riding my motorcycle to work most days to keep the miles off. I'll be posting it on here and Craigslist next week. My biggest selling point, only to be appreciated by folks on this board, is that I have a brand new frame due to the Toyota rust recall. It took them 7 months and $18k later, but Toyota gave me a new rust-free frame and associated parts.

Ordered it from a local dealer. Texted my salesman today and he said it has a build day of Sept. 19 and another 2-4 weeks for delivery

How long did everyone with 2017's wait from deposit to getting an allocation and build date? Does this depend highly on the dealership?

I have been given an estimated build date of 6-8 weeks; however, I am still waiting on an allocation several weeks after putting down my deposit.

I got mine roughly 10 weeks post-order. I did, however, have the first order allocated to my dealer which my be why it took so long. My build date/delivery had one delay through the process which added a week.

in the same boat. put down a deposit for a Pro on 8/26, told some time for allocation and then the build time on top, just as you were told. I'm not sure but it seems as a Pro buyer my allocation wait time may be longer. My guy explained their process in putting in allocations and special orders (mine is a 6MT as well, special order), but pretty sure he left some steps out so i'm clear as mud and asking for a bit more clarity.

reason being my interim car (my last vehicle was totaled recently) has a broken steering rack and i'm suffering it daily and it's getting worse... and they say i've gotta wait until early Nov! holy crap how am i gonna make my current car survive that long?!!!

I think it comes down to luck and your dealership. I ordered mine 2017 July 5th The dealer told me this was going to be one of their first allocations for 2017. The truck arrived August 22nd.

Some people have been real lucky in that they ordered a truck and the dealer found that truck configuration in another dealers inventory. In such a case dealers will swap trucks and instead of the customer waiting for 6 to 8 weeks they may get the truck in a few weeks.

i was hoping for this, a dealer swap, but it looks like that doesn't happen with 6MT's. if anyone can correct me, please do.

Appears to be close to what I'm getting. Ordered a TRDOR DCSB AT with JBL, Tow, and OEM Tonneau on Saturday, expecting late October delivery. I just learned that they'll have one in mid/late September and they'll swap in the OEM tonneau from another truck. I'll inspect it carefully but otherwise I'm not thinking there's any problem with that plan; particularly since the dealer is nearby. Anyone think differently?

Sure, your dealer could do a swap but they have to: 1) Locate the Pro 6MT and 2) that other dealer has to agree to release this vehicle. If the other dealer does not want to give up the vehicle then your out of luck.

I'm pretty sure that your dealer already did a locate for you vehicle, if a match wasn't found, they then check the dealer's pipeline, then allocation.

I would try to avoid a dealers trade for a vehicle already on another dealers lot because they would have to drive a similar Tacoma from their lot to the other lot and then drive your vehicle back to the dealership. Depending on how far the other dealer is, your truck could have up to 500 mile on the odometer before you purchase it.

A trade found in pipeline would be the best option, because the truck you wanted is already slated to be built and, if the trade is submitted early enough, will be delivered to your dealership instead of the other dealership. But if your dealership hasn't said anything by now, its most likely not going to happen.

I gave up as of today. It has been 13 weeks and still no build date or Vin number so I went and got my deposit back. I tried contacting dealers when they got the truck I wanted in but they would sell it before I could get there. I'll try again next year...maybe.

Ordered a 17 DCSB OR M/T in MGM end of July. Picked up 9/7. Loving it so far. Does anyone know if the manuals are having issues with the low trans fluid?

Manuals don't have trans fluid like ATs. You should be good to go.

Got my build date after 2 weeks of waiting. Should receive the truck in about 6 weeks.
