    2017 DCLB OR QS (Ordered)
    I placed my order with a local, small town dealership two months ago and am still waiting to get a build date (2017 DCLBOR 4x4 QS w/JBL). I was told in the second week that "the order has been accepted" by the factory, but I'm not sure exactly what that means as far as actually being allocated. The sales guy told me recently that he has two people who ordered trucks before me that are still waiting on a build date, so it feels like it could be a while longer.

    Is it really just luck of the draw with the dealership or does size matter, iykwim? Assuming it makes a difference, at what point should I drop this order and go to a bigger dealership? Also, has anyone had a problem getting their deposit back when dropping an order in this kind of situation?

    Today is my build date, OR 4x4 DCSB AT MGM, and should arrive at the dealer on 11/5. Built in Texas. I got lucky and found a Charlotte dealer with the configuration I wanted and just put a small deposit down. Once VW buys back my Jetta TDI, it is full go on the Taco!

    Do you know where your's is being built? Baja or Texas? Not sure if that has anything to do with it but my guess is the specific configuration may be hard to come by as they are pumping out generic models and the dealership allocation depends on what is selling that specific area I would imagine.

    It will be TX. I've seen several (5-6 in the last week) similarly configured trucks in the area, so I'm sure this config is being built, the ones on the lots just all have too much port-added extras added that I don't want.

    Trust me I think the size of the dealership matters. Also ordering is the luck of the draw. When I ordered my 2017 at a large dealership july 5th 2016 they were in the process of ordering their 2017 allocation. The sales manager said they were placing 15 2017 allocation orders and told me to give him the configuration I wanted. He called me a week later and said Toyota accepted my build and the build date would be last week in July with an estimated delivery date of mid August. The truck was actually delervered August 22nd I think the size of the dealership and timing plays a key. Good luck

    I am sure size has an impact, but my understanding from two dealerships more depends on their rating. I am fortunate to have one of the "best" dealerships in New England, according to my sales guy, and they do have lots of bragging plaques on the wall.

    Order was placed end of August, delivery next week

    It's great, and frustrating, hearing how short the waits were for many of you. I guess I'll hang in a while longer. I wish there was a way to know for sure that everything has been done properly. I read on here that someone waited for their build date for 3 or 4 months only to find out the order was never really submitted. I'm ready to stop worrying and start getting excited about it.

    Yes, that was me and the truck never came in and I got my deposit back. Fortunately it is not a must have so I can wait until the orders calm down.

    It took about 2 months for me to get my ordered 2017. It took 5 weeks for Toyota to accept order and get build date, then waited 2 weeks for the factory to build the truck, then waited one week for it to get delivered to the dealership.

    I originally ordered my 2017 Tacoma on 5/5/16
    during the waiting time in the ordering process around July , I tried to add package (LL) with (BZ) they could not add LL as it was a conflict with BZ so they messed up and changed the order from BZ to LL. The dealer did not inform me until the truck came in and then tried to sell me that , it was not what I wanted so I had to reorder in September. I have a new order in with a build date of 11-9. I was pretty upset with my dealer because they should've known what was coming in , they gave me a Vin number and everything but of course they blamed it all on Toyota corporate . I'm trying to be nice and be patient and hopefully negotiate a better deal in the end .

    BZ = Utility package
    LL = Convenience package

    put down a deposit on a QS 4x4 DCSB TRDOR MT first week of August.

    By mid October, I had yet to hear a status or any indication that the truck would be built. Seemed like I was in limbo.

    Dealer had their regional manager pull some strings apparently, they may have traded an allocation to another dealer to get me my truck.

    I'm now told that it's schedule for build date on 11/17, and will be delivered sometime in early December.

    We'll see!

    I think 4 months from order to delivery is realistic for unusual build requests, from what I'm hearing.

    That seems awfully long based on my experience. I just ordered a '17 OR DCSB MT w/ Premium and Tow. I was given a build date of Nov. 9 and an estimated delivery of first week in December.

    Maybe it's regional. Off-roads are rare up this way. I've actually never seen one on a lot - only sports.

    Ordered mine ( Inferno TRD OR DCSB w/ JBL, TECH, and Tow) on 8/15/16, build date of 10/9/16. Was told it would be at the dealership between 10/22/16 and 10/27/16. Was told yesterday that it will be delayed until 10/31/16 now.

    My 10/31 build date just got bumped back a week. I don't know if that is Baja or Texas.
