I assume dealers are reimbursed for the work they perform regarding the rear leaf TSB on 05-08's.

There are a lot of people who are getting their 2009's done and the TSB is not updated to include these yet. Does the dealer still get reimbursed for the work performed or are they eating the cost?

If they have to eat it, I understand why most dealers are resisting. It also says A LOT for the dealers that are doing the work for their customers and eating the cost.

If they are reimbursed, I don't see why they would complain.

I would guess the rate that Toyota covers warranty work is not the same as they would charge a customer.

I was flat out told that they would not do the TSB for my '09 because they would have to eat the cost because the '09 was not included in the TSB.

I am fighting them for it and on Tuesday they asked me to bring it in so that they can verify and take pictures of the "old type" 3 leaf springs. I did have to call Toyota for a case # though.

Toyota pays. I went in yesterday and the svc manager said if Toyota will cover it, we will do it. I got a call later on and he said that Toyota is going to include the 2009s on the TSB, but have not gotten around to it yet.

I am sure there are other threads about it but can someone provide a quick high level summary of what the rear leaf TSB does?

I would consider it as I know I had 500lbs in mine and it sat down more than I expected it would. This will be something to keep an eye on if they include the 09's

I thought Canadian Tacoma's already had the 4 leaf pack?

I have called Toyota several times to file complaints and build my "case". I knew the dealer would call Toyota and ask if they will cover it. Sure enough, the dealer told me the same as Liquidity...if Toyota pays for it, we'll do it.

I am not optimistic that it will be done but I will continue to call Toyota and file complaints until the 2009's are added to the TSB. I need my truck to be a truck and be capable of hauling things.

I ENCOURAGE ALL OTHER 2009 OWNERS TO CALL TOYOTA AND FILE COMPLAINTS. THE MORE THEY RECEIVE, THE SOONER THE 2009 WILL BE ADDED TO THE TSB. SPREAD THE WORD.
