Your first mistake was thinking anyone was trying to lose or win in an internet forum discussion and it shows from your first message to your last.

Consider taking a break from the internet for a week.

A modern small body on frame ev truck would be the perfect truck for me.

    I do like that.

look at those clamshell doors, and all that room for gear!

…annnnd pretty much vaporware. Those ev startups are about as trustworthy as a politician.

Have to wait for the Toyota version, if it is actually coming.

Toyota will put MSRP way above a Maverick for either one of those. The orange one looks hot though I would not want those tires.

They will, it will be a Toyota however. Looked over the Maverick in person, there is a reason it is cheap, because it is…

yeah the truck market and it’s love affair with mud tires that will never see mud. Real happy with tread design just below an AT.

I agree that truck is vaporware, but people said the same thing about Rivian when they first showed their truck in 2018.

So many BEV startups makes me say "I'll believe it when i see it on the actual road"

The rivian actually had some level of funding and transparency about who they are and what they were doing. Alpha is intentionally obfuscating any attempt to find out about the company.

    Lol

I don't like long road trips, always fly for that reason. But after driving this thing it makes me want to go on a long road trip. The comfort and smoothness belies the fact that it is essentially an off-road truck under all the fluff.

    I bought my 1st tacoma (2nd gen) 3 days ago. V6 4.0 over a v4 2.4 turbo all day any day.
Wait til those turbo's start messing up like they always do, everyone will want to buy 2nd or 3rd gen.

I would love to have Nori Green but they just don't show up for sale. Okay I just did a nationwide search on cars.com and there is one used 2022 for sale in the country. No new ones out of a total of 3596 that show up. If I remember correctly that color was only available on a special trim and might not have been offered in 2023.

The ones coming in are the last of the final production run which has I think has ended by now (probably more like a month ago). The dealer I bought mine from said they had 20 more coming and that was it and his plan was to move them before the end of the year. He said his year-end numbers factor into the allocations he gets next year.

By the way in case anybody is interested, he verified that new GX550 will be delayed until March-April timeframe. This is no news scoop on my part, it's pretty widely rumored on the web, but I tend to lend credence to what he said. They are a very high-end dealer and allocation is everything to them.

Believe it or not these outdated dinosaurs are selling fast. Apparently, I'm not the only one that prefers the tried-and-true old school V8 design. And they did do a tech update on the 22-23 run that makes Apple Car Play and Android Auto work like it should. For an old geezer like me it has all the tech I want.

I need to slow my roll until I get off these steroids lol. There will be plenty of time to pick up a clean 22-23. But the bad angel on my shoulder, who I have nicknamed "TacoBuffet", is not helping me with my car problem.

I’m not sure I believe that. Or rather, I hope that is incorrect. I’m mostly interested in the next gen 4Runner anyway.

I have no idea if it's fact or not, but I've seen mention of delays on the net. This guy at the dealer passed on what he "knew". I believe he was telling me the truth as far as what information he got. But it's entirely possible the information he got is not accurate.
