Who posted they have access to non-branded but functional tailgates?

I'm sure a tailgate can be obtained on request.

 

Just curious ... maybe was posted in the less-available days, but the poster went the route of getting what I think was a "generic shell" that the manufacturer did not stamp "TOYOTA" because Toyota had not licensed him. But I think he said it worked fine without the stamp.

 

What are we talking about here? Isn’t the pic in the first post an OEM tailgate? I want to participate or at least understand, but I’m also confused.

 

The person posted in "what did you do", reporting the damage. Then said he found a source for a replacement gate, or at least the shell, that matches shape/size but does not have TACOMA stamped. The poster said he could live with a stick-on TACOMA.

It is far back. Maybe not a full year ago but long enough that I did not want to search several hundreds of pages (not that we brag alot in here ).

i've got it saved specifically because i want a tailgate without branding on it... but also, my tailgate was dented the second week i had the truck.

I’ve seen it and they slapped some “toyota” decal on it. Looked good.

 

Oh nice! I’d be curious to see what it looks like installed without any lettering whatsoever too

I’m also interested in a tailgate that isn’t stamped. They don’t ship to AK otherwise I would have already had this installed
