I have been a Sirius customer since the beginning. Had it in my old truck, my wife's car, etc.
However, I have been getting annoyed at their price increases over the years. The cost is bordering on ridiculous.

So, when I sold my old truck, I was down to just having the service on my wife's car, plus I have internet access which is a lot cheaper. So, when the trial on the new 2016 ended, I just started using the web/internet access on my phone and just listened through the blue tooth in the truck. Been doing this for 3 months now and quite honestly I don't think I will ever renew the truck subscription.

    Anyone else doing this?

I was going to, but I always listened to the Adult Comedy channels. But it seemed like it was on a tape loop same shit everyday, and got boring real quick. Music channels were good, but I listen to the iPod more.

They keep sending me this offer of $30 for 5 months. That is $6 per month. I think I can get Netflix for that price right? So far, I am getting used to just using the phone to tune to the sirius channel and then connecting to the Taco radio via bluetooth.

Yep, wait for it to get close to renew or let them know you're no longer interested and want to camcel. The renewal rates usually decrease substantially. Take the time to talk to someone on the phone, you'll get the best deals.

Pretty sure Netflix is more than $6 now. Anyway I never thought of having internet only and streaming through my phone. I've had XM since 2005 and love it. I guess I've gotten use to that $20 coming out every month no but it's worth it to me.

I've kept it for years...always get the "sale price" and no auto renew (auto renew is my big issue and now magazines are trying it).

The streaming option is sucks for me because very poor service.

Well i ripped out my radio and put an aftermarket deck in. However. If you hold out they will offer you a lower price lol they kept calling me and asking and the price kept dropping lol i almost went back for 2 bucks a month.

Now i just use samsung milk music cause its better than pandora and sirius combined imho. Can choose genre and era

Ive had it since 07 on 2 vehicles, house and computer and my bike. They sold me a lifetime sub for $500 and told me it was transferable up to 3 or 5 times, but when I got the contract a month later it says only non factory radios are transferable. I was pissed. I talked to everyone on the chain and they would not budge, so I cancelled everything but the lifetime. They tried everything to get me back, the best I could get was $101 a year inc taxes, so I told them to fuck off. I traded in the lifetime vehicle and the new owners are getting lifetime on me. Take that fuckin XM.
Fast forward 3 months and I was totally disappointed with sound of regular radio, I bit the bullet and signed up for 1 year in my taco, but I have to find a better solution for sounds. I have bluetooth, Pandora Ipod was thinking of trying some other source for HD radio in the future.

I joined Sirius in 2005 when Howard started there and signed up for the lifetime membership which I'm pretty sure they stopped offering. It was $500 and gave you lifetime of your radio and 3 changes of the radio. This also gave you access to listen via web access. I still listen using the web access using radium. I have yet to switch radios but I may look into it once my 16 comes in.

shortly after the merger with xm i cancelled my subscription, it took an act of god for them to quit charging me. i tried to pay for the year up front with a check and they would have nothing of it. then i had friends that were still being charged LONG after cancelling service, and having to fight to get their money back. SXM will never get a dime from me ever again.

Got the free trial when I bought my 09 RAV4, got so used to it bought the dash mounted unit for my semi. When I retired, took the portable unit and receiver and mounted it in my home. Now have 3 of the dash type units, one in my house playing through a Bose Wave unit, one in my gym building, and one in my 06 Taco, which did not have Sirius/XM radio built in. I pay about $18 every 3 months for the one receiver which I switch from base to base. I live in an area with very limited radio selections and poor reception, and love the Sirius/XM.

I have it in two vehicles and buy it yearly. I hold onto the billing so I know what I paid the year before. Then I wait till it get's close to renew then I will speak to someone to get it the same price or cheaper.

They sold me on the lifetime in 2010 when I bought my truck. I got them down a $100.00 on the lifetime so it was $400 plus tax. So over the years the terms changed and life time is no longer available and no more transfers. I had a call a while back, they were trying to up grade my subscription and wanted to but me out of the lifetime. I told them I wasn't interested and I haven't heard anything since. The good thing is I tend to keep my cars for a long time so I should be good for a while.
