Most people have been letting it expire and then waiting until they contact you and offer a discount. For them it's a numbers game. They talk about having 30 million subscribers but I doubt that half of them are paying full price.

$30 for 6 months but that offer came after the trial ended. I am a lifetime subscriber though so it was a moot point.

Did they transfer your subscription to your Toyota head unit? I've been reading that the only way they will do that is if it was stolen.

I have a trial that ends in a month, I won't be renewing. I had a Sirius subscription years ago before they merged, for music it was a lot better back then. I listen to metal/hardcore and punk. That leaves me like 3 channels. Octane, faction and the metal channel I can't remember the name of. Half of the time I turn on faction it is Jason Ellis flapping his mouth hole, so now I skip over faction. I've only heard my favorite bands come on a few times, it's not worth it. Once in a while I try the comedy channels but I swear it sounds like the same dozen comedians on loop.

Honestly, I haven't tried yet. I put my radio in the company car and have been using it in there since that is my daily driving vehicle.

I use the radium app on my iPhone for my work car and haven't used my Sirius portable for a few years. I was gonna hit up Sirius after the trial is up and see if they will transfer it to my truck. I'll let you know but I have a couple months left in my trial.

I have it currently but that's my biggest gripe. I don't understand how it can sound as lousy as it does. FM radio sound quality blows it away.

Yeah, you have me curious now. Maybe I'll give them a call and see what happens. Renewing the subscription in my wife's car was not a pleasant experience. I called to renew, wasn't happy with what they were telling, I told them to cancel then they came back and offered the same rate she was paying. $100 for a year.

Have you tried using the radium app? The only downside is that you have to use your cell data.

I am not going to renew ... I like the comedy channels, but they have commercials.

No but will look into it. My company will be covering my phone bill and I will need to get unlimited data. Is it better than spotify?

I don't currently use Sirius, but my wife has it in her car. She's a HUGE fan of it and renews it yearly.

When she gets her yearly renewal notice (for $200), she'll call them and threaten to cancel. She says they always offer it for $100 to keep her on, it's a pretty easy negotiation.

If you're looking for alternatives though, I'm a HUGE Pandora fan and use that all the time. The sound quality is far better IMO, there are no commercials at all if you're a paid subscriber, and it's way cheap for the paid subscription at $36/yr.

The only downside to Pandora is I think that Sirius' channel line-up is better, but it's hard for me to say because I only really listen to the Pandora channels that I set up for myself.

Radium just gives you access to listening to Sirius on your phone without having to pay for the smartphone app addon. As far as paying $100-$200 a year for Sirius that's just kind of crazy. Most people on here were saying they could get 6 months for $35

I've had 4 letters in the mail since it expired in February. They are wasting trees and they should feel bad

I called before the free trial period ended, and purchased 1 year for $89.

The original offer (email) was 6 months for $30, or 1 year for $112. Maybe I could have renewed again after 6 months for only $30, but dont want the hassle of dealing with it again in 6 months.

FYI, I have a sportscar with XM. I renew each spring so it will last on all the road trips in the spring, summer and early fall. It's always been $30 or $35 and it's zero hassle via the website.

I like the convenience of XM/Sirius but the quality is terrible, too many commercials, and the cost is not worth it. I use Spotify and have zero complaints.

I didn't renew mine. I thought the sound quality was absolute garbage. In Western NC, the signal cutout quite a bit as well. I pay for Spotify Premium and love it.

I had Sirius some years ago, back when they had no commercials, commercial free was one of their selling points but over time the commercials appeared along with someone talking about this or that on the air, if I wanted to hear someone talking about what they want to talk about I would listen to talk radio.

I did away with it long ago, I did not renew when it ran out in my 3rd Gen and I do not see myself ever going back.

Pandora, Sound cloud, youtube are a few alternative music programs that are available through Google play store. However you do need to be an active in your music selection and choice, I guess it really depends if you care about what you listen to. "I personally hate" the fools who have maybe 5 Pandora stations and they all sound the F U C K ing same. I have to constantly delete stations because I've reached my 100 station limit a while back. And I guess it would help to mention I have Verizon grandfathered in unlimited data, so I just stream away on the freeway. Or highway or by way.
