I had flares on mine but I was terrified road salt/brine was working it’s way in there each time I washed it so ultimately took them off. No rust but they were eternally damp and they chaffed the paint... keeping the trucks clean is vital to their longevity up north.

    A few tweaks
The flares are not the problem. It's the construction of the inner fender support you should be worried about. It rusts from the inside out.

Chiming in on an old thread but I just installed the PSI fender flares to protect the fenders from rocks and road splash. This was especially important to me after installing the 1" wheel spacers all around (to clear the ADDCO rear sway bar that was encroaching on my 255/70/16 rear sidewall).

I thought it would be good to also post here for any folks that search on fender flares.

The front pieces of this kit did not form to the body at the rear and at the lower end and look terrible. Big gap down there. Will leave it for now and figure something out later on. A couple of screws on each side had to be drilled because they did not line up with any of the OEM holes.

I used a dremel cutting wheel to cut the lower rear edge so that it would slide over the OE mud flaps.

The rear pieces, OTOH, went really smoothly and lined up pretty well with the OEM plastic plugs.

    The seller is here:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/254179977236

I left him neutral feedback since the rear flares install was plug-n-play easy but unloaded on him about the front terrible fitment. He responded that maybe I didn't have a 4WD or that I had different fenders. I indeed have a 4WD and my fenders match up to the body curves of the doors and lower rocker panels.

    Mike
