That's weird, the one I got from taco garage definitely has all black backgrounds. I would reach out to him and see if he can get it fixed.

The other thing is I think the letters are just 3m taped on. You could probably pop the letters off and paint pretty easy.

You mean you didn't mask off and hit the T & A with some matte black spray paint?

$140? There are tons of these in the exact same quality on eBay for $65-$70. For 140 I’d think it’d have the screw on letters. I got mine for $65 on eBay, fit was spot on but the letters are exactly like yours but I painted all the letter stuff black to match and glued all my letters on and skipped he 3M tape

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven’t done anything yet and I’m not really sure I will. OP wanted my opinion of the grille once I received and installed it so just passing on some info.

You’re probably right. I liked the idea of supporting a TW member that had inspected these and had good reviews. I was aware of the $70 ones and I still chose to go this route.

Motorgenic. Letters came separate and were perfect. TOYOTA letters pre plastic welded, no chance of falling out. No tape or glue needed. Fit was excellent and overall quality was 95%. Very happy.

That T and A would drive me nuts. One, from an angle the letters look larger and two, my OCD will have no part of it.
I purchased one and due to it taking 3 weeks to get here o_O, I purchased one from dealer with garnish.
I gave it to my neighbor since itll be sitting in garage. When I pulled it out to inspect it, coupe things. There was a indent on the top ( once you see it, can't unsee it) and the T and A having silver base. I pulled it off and sprayed the base with Bumper Trim Spray Paint.
The part that sucked was once you pull it off, you can't use the same tape on there. Will not hold so I used a dab of liquid nail. And, there is so little surface that you can't use a double tape.
I fixed it, gave to my neighbor and he didnt care about the indent. Hell, it was free.
If anyone looking for a fake grill, look for one that has TOYOTA in one piece and screwed from back.

I'm looking for a cheap knock off TRD Pro Grill with grey letters preferably. Anyone know where to get one for around 70 bucks? Anyone selling here on TW or a fleabay seller? Thanks

Very true if money isn’t an issue. Although I’d suggest just getting a fake one. Tons of people have them and don’t hav to “issues.” Dealers don’t care if it OEM when it comes to recalls and stuff if it doesn’t match the right trim they’re gonna shoot it down. And all 3 of us have 2016 so there’s not going to be an issue with the sensor.

Not all 70 dollar grilles are the same, there’s some real shitty ones out there, but it’s hard to know one from another if you’ve only seen the one you buy. I’m obviously biased but I’m just happy no one has to spend 400 anymore to get rid of the nasty stock grills.
I’m also very grateful for those who have bought a grill from me, thanks to all of you!

Bought mine from Cali Raised. Pricy, but looks identical, and it came with the TSS garnish which I've had ZERO issues wrong with it.

I've heard the cali raised ones are awesome... just more expensive than the ones you can get off of ebay.
