Not going to lie, but I've never seen a Toyota 4x4 take this much heat 2 years into a generation.

i had a 2012 trd sport and loved that truck then went to a 2016 trd sport but hated the color after a little while and traded it in for a 2017 trd sport same truck different color and I must say I love the 3rd gen truck but not very happy with the transmission and engine combo,i miss the power the 4.0 had and the way it shifted,i know the 3rd gen has Atkinson cycle and the trans is a 6 speed all for gas mileage and all but it still lacks gas mileage and would prefer to have the power and smoother shifting of the second gen, otherwise wouldn't change a thing other than that on the 3rd gen.

Went from 2007 to 2017. I would say it's the exact thing other than extreme refresh & powertrain upgrades. The 4.0L feels much more responsive and stronger down low to mid rpm. Happy with my 3rd gen, but I do feel Toyota is too conservative with ECU & fuel mapping calibrations on this Tacoma.

I went from a 2005 2wd to a 2016 TRD Sport. I've got 17,000 mi on it and I really like it, I haven't noticed any issues. It was definitely an upgrade for me and I'm completely satisfied so far

I'm all for rehashing topics, leeps things fresh. If TW only allowed for original post ideas, it would have closed by now.

I went from a 2012 trd or 4x4 dcsb to the same but 2017. I think it's a very good change. You will hear many here talk about their transmission issues, but keep in mind there is probably a silent majority who has no issues. Myself included.
