It can be a bit treacherous at times, especially after rain. If you look at how I drove down the line my ruts are not straight...that wasn't by choice. It also cakes up something fierce, as you can tell by my tires. Chunks of it fling everywhere when I get back on the pavement. Its funny cars will back way off b/c the mud will be hitting their cars. Thanks for the compliment :D

here are some more from today...I really need to start keeping my D60 in my truck

That's awesome man! I wish we had more fun wildlife down here. I'm there primarily for gopher tortoises, but I'm mostly chasing alligators...they are not friendly.

gopher torts and gators are cool too! I had a buddy down in FL years ago that worked as a bio consultant. He also worked with bald eagles and some other cool tropical species. Ever run across any panthers??

Only if it's not reported, then it's the same as taxed money. Learned that the hard way. Beware the schedule L.

I'm a cell site tech. Figured if there was a vehicle to run up the miles on, it'd be a Tacoma. I also wanted the extra space for tools, ladder, etc., and the ability to take them all where I need them. I've driven upwards of 200 miles a day for work (awesome for racking up mileage dough). Mostly highway, but I have to hit the occasional trail or mountain (and by hit, I mean literally; had to get an alignment after a bit of impatience during an hour and a half trip over seven miles) and have my share of pinstripes and then some. It's also my DD and I don't regret the purchase. I enjoy driving her every day.

I am a Carpenter (yeah we rule). I've gone from a 3/4 ton dodge to a 1/2 ford to a dakota and now I got my little four banger tacoma and the best thing about using that little truck is not having to fill it up with ungodly amounts of soil, rock, lumber, debris, shit etc. It feels good to trim the fat. If I need a heavy hauler I'll get some ol 1 ton dually dumper. But for the time being when someone wants me to tow a trailer full of an entire demolished garage with my truck I get to tell them that they are shit outta luck.
    just sayin. [IMG]

    Lots of biologists and carpenters.

I'm also a biologist, and maybe we (tarandus) have crossed paths, or come close. Was in the Mojave two years ago, and in Wyoming the year before that.

I'll only be using my truck for work when i cant get there in the crappy car the employers give me. Probably should have had a different vehicle a few times though.

I use mine for my summer job as a pool manager/operator. My boss and I both have a Tacoma he bought his after he saw mine and got tired of putting so much gas in his Tundra. By next month the trucks are filled daily with bell pumps, big hoses, paint 5 gallon paint buckets and bags of wet decaying leaves about everyday. Then when the season starts it's just buckets of chlorine and vaccums. I wish I got some money for all the miles I log, close to 7G a summer.

I went with a ARE V series and by going the less expensive route, I was able have options like two side "windoors", double latches, and tilt down front sliding window. As for the rack, it is the THULE/ DEWALT 342. Those two companies teemed up on this rack making a 500 lb. load cap and 64'' tracks with sliding load bars. I really am quite pleased with the whole deal. thanx fo checkin.

I use my truck every day since I got it.

80 - 200 miles a day for work. I also wish I had a 4x4 because I have off road for work almost every day.
