Wow, Biologists get to ride with a lot more style than they did in my dad's day. (He drove a '76 VW bus.)

I'm a musician and a glassblower. I got hooked on trucks a few years back because 1) I got a lot of gear and merch to haul and 2) the 2WDs are cheap. (Which is kind of important when you're a musician/glassblower. :D)

I don't ever get a mileage allowance per se, but I make damn sure I claim every mile I can on my Schedule C!

    None yet.
I use my truck for work every day, but what that is varies pretty widely. I'm a senior network engineer, so sometimes it just transports me. Other times, it carries equipment worth more than it is (I've had between a hundred and two hundred thousand of switches and servers in it before).

Occasionally, that's why I got the rear TSB.

I may have 400 pounds in the bed, but not very often...

Just a little word play with glazier (glacier) and Titaniz (Titanic) and calves (icebergs) ... It made sense when I first posted it but it doesn't really make it on second look. Word humor fail, apologized for in advance.

I do a free ski demo four Thursdays in a row during the winter for the ski shop I work at. 50-60 pair of skis hauled to the ski hill.

I drive mine to work everyday...I'm an AG Lender and visit farms pretty often. Some off road, mostly gravel/dirt roads.

Certainly not an insult. Glazier is a very respected and well paid trade in the Northeast. It's just that it makes me smile to hear someone say, "I'm a glazier." Don't deny that you get many quizzical looks. ;)

I just drive my truck to work but I don't actually use my truck to do any of the work I get paid for, that is because there isn't a need for it as I am an Information Technology Supervisor. I am interested in starting off roading though as my truck is 4x4!

    Smart man here.

Back in the day when I was a young carpenter contractor I also had a reg cab 4banger w/ a topper.

Then as my business got larger, of course like every fool and his money...I had to have the big Ford FX4's & Chevy Z71's...etc.

Matter of fact...I traded a 2010 F-150 for my Tacoma.

I'm still building homes...I get all my materials delivered...I haul the small stuff and my tools...

I love the setup. My ego does not. However, I'm at the age where practical wins over ego.

My truck gets me to cell sites... Except in the mountains in the winter, then its snow cats.

not so much anymore, i was unemployed for a long time though and was doing a ridicilous amt of landscaping sidework until i got my current job ... so both the toyota and the 99 mazda b2500 that preceded it do indeed get used for work and play.
