    I have my degree in Building Sciences. i worked as a project manager for a construction company and i have had experience in solar and geothermal not so much in wind though.

    In my opinion, and my location, solar hot water and geothermal were the most popular and efficient. until energy prices drop i dont see PV taking off. the return on it was just too far out for my area.

    energy prices have gone down because Natural gas production is booming in the USA

    Yep totally agree. i love PV and its collection capabilities, but at the end of the day it all comes down to money and waiting for an efficient storage method.

    until that time you can make very good money to pay bills, raise kids, college tuition bills in the Natural gas industry, I have worked on a lot of Energy related projects Nuclear reactors, Electric sub stations, Wind turbines, Clean coal burning none have ever paid more than what I get working for the Natural gas industry, I also get a food and lodging per diem if I travel.

    PV is getting there. We are pushing a GW of installed equipment by the end of this year. Residential is taking a hit everywhere because of the utilities being greedy but the next huge wave, that has already hit, is energy storage. 2017 has been a huge year for that, which also helps drive the PV industry.
