I didn't hit her, can't even say I got pretty close to her, but I just want to know who would be at fault.

I was waiting to take a U-turn at an intersection, one chick was in front of me also was also taking a U-turn. As I prepared to cut the steering wheel so that I could take the turn without hitting the median or the curb on the other side of the road.

She appeared directly in front of me as if she ran the red right, if I didn't see her crossing my path I could have T-boned her. I came to a dead stop while she stopped in front of me to only flip me off and honk for several seconds causing traffic to hold up. She took the widest turn that's possible to where she was out of my peripheral vision, so I assumed she was just taking a 90 degree left turn. (I guess she was so busying looking at her cell phone while texting that she didn't pay attention to how wide she took the turn.)

I've never had this happen to me so I'm pretty confused right now. I asked my dad what I did wrong and he called it "snaking someone". This may seem like an absolutely bias post, but I was taught to take U-turns as hard as possible just to avoid this from happening. Please share your thoughts on this.

I hope I made this clear enough...... ^ That's not a poorly drawn penis, it's the median just to be clear.

Thanks, I was pretty freakin' pissed off because she flipped me off and made a scene like that.

hahahaha, that picture....... Did you actually collide? If so, I think legally you are at fault from what it seems. I mena, don't get m ewrong, the dumb "bitch" is a horrible driver, but from the law, you need to wait til she completes here turn.

U-turns are illegal where I'm from , so I would say you're both at fault .

I didn't even get close to hitting her, she had 4+ feet of clearance between me and her. I have no idea why she stopped, I guess to impress her lady lover by trying to make me look like a dumbass.

They're legal in Texas where designated by a sign or marking on the ground.

I would say you are at fault. But I blame her for not knowing how to drive.

U-turns are only illegal in business areas, otherwise, you can do them anywhere in CA. Any intersection is U-turn friendly unless it says otherwise

it would probably be your fault imo. whoever is in the rear should be responsible for being aware of everything thats going on in front of them, no matter what

Here's the thing, I wasn't even close to behind her when she took the turn, so that's what gets me here. But I can see where you're coming from since I was behind her at the light.

I think you would be at fault if you hit even though she made a wide turn. When turning left or U, you have to make sure the intersection is clear before you go.

Around here (NJ) the insurance companies have this new “Probability of cause” or something like that. It is measured in percentage. Meaning you both could be at fault which could be 50/50 or 25 /75 etc. Not sure why they do this. Maybe to raise rates for both people:eek:.

Nice pic dude, but I think it would have been your fault if you 2 crashed. they could have said your path was not clear to proceed and you were behind her before the turn.

if someone flips me off or honks i follow their ass and make sure they piss their pants a little bit. I have major road rage... unless its my fault, then I keep driving.

I'd say technically you were at fault as you should have let her complete her dumbass U-Turn then made your normal U-Turn.

Its your fault on paper, hers on the pavement.

Either way you should have kept her in your sights and assumed that she was making the U- turn even if she didn't appear to be since taking the U would be a hazard to you if you snaked her, and she would be a hazard to the driver's to your right if she made an illegal left turn.

I quickly took a moment to think about running them off the road or doing something stupid before I pulled into a McDonalds parking lot, but I decided to just let them go; my adrenaline was pumping so hard for some reason.. I've never so pissed off in my life. I should have at least blinded her with my kc lights when she stopped right in front of me.

You would be a fault cause you cut her off of her silly useless U Turn. She was the one in front so it's up to you to watch her. She was in the intersection first so by default she had the right of way.

Just cause she can't drive don't mean it would not end up being your fault.
