    There is a switch but the truck won't even turn over if the clutch isn't to the floor.

    And the tach never moved.. That was my observation. Not sure if that points to the ECU or not though

    Plus no-com when he hooked up a scanner. You're right, probably ECU.

    If my memory serves me, someone not long ago cooked the fuse to ECU.
    Need to check all fuses that marked as efi, inj,ing, etc

    Where?
    What connector and wire color?

    Jumping the starter (assuming here) is not a very good option for the Tacoma.

    Are you confident that when you fished the wire through that rubber grommet with the coat hanger you didn't damage any existing wiring?

    The only reason I ask is I did this exact same thing in my old car, and it cost me a LOT of money. I was running a wire through that grommet in the firewall and accidentally knicked one of the other wires, which caused my car to not be able to shift into drive. Had it towed to a Hyundai dealership and they eventually figured it out.

    I think I owe an update - I physically went in and pulled all the wires out of the truck and magically the truck came to life! :jellydance:I'm going to take a step back and get an isolated power system in place before i go any further. Thanks guys for all your suggestions and brainstorming. Much respect! Thanks!

    In the future, always look at the last thing you did before the shitstorm. Then undo it. Then it will always be about;

    I meant i was figuratively pulling wires out of the truck. I had unhooked all my wiring, but it was still in the truck - i guess something was still tied in!
