    Has anyone tried using a slide hammer to do it? I plan on doing my driverside bearing Saturday. I have a big slide hammer kit or do I need to get the removal tool? Just trying to make sure I have everything I will need to do the job

    I'd recommend an actual puller. I just did mine but the slide hammer wouldn't move the bushing. I had to rig up a puller that ended up working, but it was too stuck for the slide hammer to start actually pulling. I even doubled up the weight for the slide and hit it with a sledge...that was the toughest part of my swap. I'd recommend following the "turn CV 1/16 to find sweet spot when hammering out" and "hold CV straight when removing and installing" (well placed bungees worked for me. Also, I froze my bushing but noticed some light corrosion on the outside, if I were to do it again I'd lightly grease the bushing before freezing. A seal driver kit and pitman arm puller made the work easier, free when borrowed from O'Reillys. Some good advice on this forum and videos on youtube were good prep.
