Never seen Cerrone fight before. that was some impressive sh*t.

That was a bummer. But I gotta give it to Roy, that was a good fight and he took some punishment.

And speaking of punishment, jesus god did BJ get hammered! I was amazed he didn't get knocked down.

Dana has made GSP vs Nick Diaz official. It is rumored that St. Pierre begged the UFC President for the fight following Nick's antics after the fight. In the post fight speech Diaz had some choice words for the UFC welterweight champion. The fight is official for the Superbowl Weekend card.

Bloody Elbow will have more in the coming days on what this fight means for the UFC and the welterweight division.

Sucks to see Penn retire if he does go through with it. The main event went how I thought it would, but not how I wanted it. Hate to see Penn take so much punishment but he showed great heart standing and banging with Diaz and never going down.

I hate to see CroCop leave as well although he has been less impressive each fight he takes.

Keep watching Cerrone. he's an animal. he's always in good fights.

I was extremely impressed with Diaz. he has the cardio of a featherweight becuase of all the triathalon training he does! and Penn has an amazing chin and incredible heart to take the beating he did and still keep swinging. I think he should go back to LW and finish his career there. He's too small for WW.

Oh thanks for mentioning that I was going to ask if anyone else caught it where Rogan was talking about his endurance and I thought he said something about Diaz swimming from Alcatraz. Did anyone else here that?
I guess I am on the internet I could probably look it up...

    EDIT: damn I guess so.

Yea the dude does triathalons in between fights. he came in first place in the last one he was in. He's no joke in the cardio. he may be the only guy who has better cardio then GSP.

I'm going to have to agree with ya here. Hope he doesn't retire just yet. He needs to be more on the ball of always staying in shape and then just do the last bit of hard cardio before the fight. BJ had the first round (at least I thought he did) and all he had to to is stick with Diaz for the next two rounds and he would've caught him good. BJ is a better boxer when he is on the hunt compared to diaz. Also Diaz was reach checking him thru out the whole fight which keep Penn in the impact zone of all his punches and kept him from really countering. Good job on diaz for that. But BJ should've reconized this and either stepped in and bulldogged him like Tyson, or side stepped to make him regret checking him with a over hand.

Oh well, kinda knew diaz was going to win after watching the weigh in and how Bj looked. He just didn't looked in shape for the kind of fight ahead of him. Best shape I've ever seen him was for the Diego Sanchez fight which he man handled that kid.

Hope GSP schools this kid and teaches him some humility and humbleness.

I don't think BJ is big or strong enough to bulldog anyone in the WW division. Diaz was quite a bit larger then Penn. I think his cardio was pretty good also. I just think the pace that Diaz set was just too much. I'm not sure anyone at WW can keep up with his pace unless they can take him down and slow him down.
Penn is in a real weird place because his body type is really in between two weight classes. Little too big and slow for LW but too small and "weak" for WW.
Idk that Penn is a better boxer though.... maybe a little more technical but Diaz really mixed those punches up well and his boxing style is very strange to fight. Alot of wide and snake like punches.

    GSP is hurt. Again.

So for the second scheduled time, Diaz will not be fighting GSP.

    Condit vs. Diaz February 4th.
