So went through the local car wash today. One of the ones that you have to put your vehicle in neutral and it rolls through on rollers.. some how my truck came out of the rollers and went backwards through the wash. Messed up the wash, and obviously the truck. Anyone good with estimates on price and time i may be out a vehicle?. Im taking it to Toyota Tuesday for estimates after they get done doing the leaf spring recall. Called my insurance and they are going to take care of it. Waiting on a rep to call me today. The owner of the wash was very civil about it. Just sucks that it happened. I messed up his wash and my truck is messed up. any help appreciated.

Ouch.....cost shouldn't matter at all. Sounds like the car washes fault.

So they are claiming you put your truck in reverse and backed up mid wash?

That's easy then. Most car washes I can easily see the security/safety cameras for the auto wash tunnels. Show me the tape, or show me the $!

they did and it does appear that my truck goes in reverse. But the sun is on the tail lights so you cant see if my reverse lights are on or not. i had it in neutral and the workers acknowledged when i went in my truck was in neutral.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
In a secure spot (empty parking lot) try shifting from N to R WITHOUT pressing the brake. I don't think you can shift into any gear from N without hitting the brake.

i know the back of the cab is going to be the most trouble im sure. My insurance is going to cover it and the owner of the carwash says hes not pressing charges for my truck breaking the machine or him being out a machine for over a week.

I don't know if it's just my taco, but I can shift through my gears without touching the brake. Even when the key is out of the ignition I can take the truck out of P.

Your insurance is going to Jack your rates like crazy for it. It he is willing to be so nice and not do anything about his damages, it's because he knows he is at fault.
