no i went all the way too California too pick it up, found some stranger going to vegas and paid him to take me, called up my step mom to pick me up in vegas, called up my dad to drive to where he was and paid him, he just wanted a pack of beer to call it good, and i told him that i would try to find a extra swaybar for him, told me not to worry about it, then had to find a way to ship them myself to utah because i bought a ticket to fly back home. but its all good i send him my own swaybar from my truck this morning, but i havent heard from him :( hope he gets it.

Really? Is Moog that recommended??? Moog was bought by Federal Mogul which was bought out by China/Taiwan. Moog hasn't been made in 'Merica in a long-fucking-while...
I bought all new Moog ball-joint, tie-end rods and strut mounts last year for my Volvo and had to replace them all after 4000 miles.

My buddies car did this: http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=257722&highlight=ball+joint+fail

idk that much detail about them, where they were made and all that, mine were autozone ones and broke all of a sudden, but i do know is that they warranty them for life, china or not replace them every time to be safe and free, better then having to buy them every time you have to do it, unless you know of a better brand then this please tell but its hard to beat lifetime warranty.

They didn't warranty mine. 20 emails, nothing....

Look up "Moog Federal Mogul crap"

Well please let me know, I need to do my lbj's and ter's. And if I have to make my own zerks so be it. But I'm avoiding Moog like the plague.

depends where you bought them i now if you buy them from there website there not lifetime. O'reilly's sells them and there lifetime warranty, some places there not, its just like the Dakine backpacks dakine does not warranty there backpack life time, but if you buy them at Zumies there lifetime, and i know this as a fact, i bought a dakine pack back in 2006 and took it back to zumies doesn't matter what zumies as long as its a zumies store, took it back in 2011 with the original recipe and switch it with the latest model they had cause mine was discontinued

Yeah....:( I bought mine off ebay. Total cost for ter's, bj's and upper strut mounts was about $600. And that's for my pos 24 y/o volvo. Ebay aints the way to expect a warranty. You live, and you learn...

Are toyota oem that bad? I know they had a recall. But, dam.

ya but if i were you i would keep them go buy some moogs at O'Reilly's and make sure you get a lifetime or where ever they sell them and put them on your truck and wait awhile and take your old ones so you can have new spare ones for when you head up the trail's. thats what im going to do i bought some used ones from a guy and i cant return them cause he bought them at another place thats not close from here so im just going to buy some here and then return the ones he gave me so i can have spares for the trail runs

I have 12 years on my original BJ's...
    and never broke one ever.

but I do avoid impacting curbs or rocks...
getting air born and hauling ass generally.
These Tacoma's (stock) are definitely not built to be a race truck.

I only have about 140K on muh junk...
but at least half of that is off road use.

I think the oem ball joints are fairly tough...
as long as ya don't push yer luck and abuse them.

I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
Well this fall with the miles on the truck and not really knowing all her past history except lots of miles on gravel and dirt, I am going to break it all down and do inner, outer tie rods, upper and lower ball joints, and so on, but I am going to try out Raybestos professional line, parts, I have seen and used some of the professional line brakes parts and they are very nice so we shall see.
and don't be miss-led by this life time warranty stuff.
read through the fine print. first you must remove the parts and send it in to them. and then let them decide if any manufacturing flaws caused the failure, not you.
no matter if you have a 4x4, what we would consider normal use, is not what they consider normal use in the warranty.
just like motor oil or oil changes, when they say 5 or 7, 000 miles of normal driving....... change you oil.
stop and go driving, in city traffic pops it in severe use. just like off roading and trail climbing.
and when you take those parts off the truck to send in,,,,,, unless you can drive on air, your stuck.

called O'reilly's and told them if they warranty them, and they said just bring them in and will exchange them.... that's why i know but another thing, it might be just a utah thing doesn't hurt to call them and ask your local moog dealer...
