I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
I have better things to do than to worry about when my next set of ball joints are going to break and where. When I do something I like to use the best parts and do the best job that a man can do. Sorry I was raised by a military family.
plus being a man, I have more respect for myself to abuse a warranty policy
to save a few dollars on cheap parts. to me its almost like stealing, which makes things more expensive for everyone else.
Plus I love my truck too much to use anything but the best.

its not ego, its having self-respect and doing things right.
and I enjoy life enough that if I had one set of ball joints fail, I would not put my girls life or mine in danger with the same product.

you're not making sense man, you don't want to put you or your girl in danger, by getting OEM ball joints and pushing them to the limit, i understand that there OEM or that there a better brand... ball joints are ball joints. its like motor oil, dealers and mechanic shops tell you to change your oil 5k to every 6k miles but in the real life depending on what you do, you change it every 3k miles so your engine can be healthy, just cause the bottle says or someone said that it can last up to 7k miles your not going to do that for your safety and the health of the engine. pushing your ball joint OEM or not. its not safe to have them on there for years and years or miles and miles. Now call it stealing or whatever you want to call it, there's a reason they do a lifetime, maybe moog is smart and recycle there ball joints, metal melts at a high temp they might do other stuff with it who know's, but i prefer to get life time warranty ball joints and do the right thing first. if you really love your truck, and you don't want to put your family in danger then you will set aside one Sunday morning, once every year or less and replace them with NEW ball joints, its not that hard to replace. I'm just saying but everybody has there own opinion this thread is too help people decide what to get when they don't know squat about ball joints and help them a little, and what not to get, its not here to force you in too buying a certain brand. P.S. YOLO ;)

Your calling me a free loader for being a smart consumer and buying a product with a lifetime warranty. Maybe you had a bad experience with moog products that's all you have to say. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but don't come in here thinking your a bad ass and feel the need to reassert that fact that your a MAN because someone else has different opinion on some thing. You just sound like a child with some thing to prove. People tend to not respond well to ego trip shit like that man, if you really want to get your point across voice what you have to say in a calm reasonable manor but also take into consideration what others have to say. Coming from a military family I would hope some one along the way instilled in you what it takes to be a true leader, and trying to be condescending is the exact opposite of that.

My original ball joints on my volvo lasted 240,000 miles and 22 years. Moogs lasted 4000 miles and 8 months. Hell, if I could find ball joints that lasted 22 years or even half the time, fuck a warranty. But that's my thoughts.

Whoever said above that ball joints are just ball joints and oil is just oil clearly has a lack of experience in any type of automotive or machine repair or maintenance. And since when is Moog a recommended brand??? That one has me scratching my head, they're cheap Chinese crap parts. The only ball joints I can recommend are the OEM. My good friend is on his 4th set of ball joints in 5 years. I can't convince him to quit buying the cheap crap ball joints that autozone or o'reilly carries. Moog? Is this really what folks recommend or maybe it's an inside or long running joke?

This is not an uncommon problem. Tons of threads on this. Consensus is this: replace every 100k miles. Aftermarket LBJ are junk, just pony up for OEM. Search around the forum, there have been comparisons done where moog and oem were cut open side by side, go with oem. No need to keep getting crappy replacements under warranty, just get OEM, properly torque the LBJ, change every 100k.

Meh i wheeled and DD my tacoma on 33s for 4 yrs on moog lbjs, never had a problem. They looked pretty good when i took them off with all the IFS. Come to think of it my inner and outer tie rods were moogs as well that i used for 10yrs.

    OEMs are the best though.

Interesting, dirty pool. I knew 555 made OEM joints for Toyota as I've used their tie rod ends on cruisers, but didn't know they manufactured a lesser quality than OEM line. I really like that epoxy indicator suggestion. Much appreciated for sharing that.
