Possible excuse for a Pismo run in the future? I've never been in my truck although I'm a little nervous about sand getting everywhere.

I know what you mean. Been itching to go to Pismo, but the thought about sand everywhere is nerve breaking.... I've heard it to be a blast though :D

nice, i'm gonna try really hard to have my long travel on by then. :D

i'm asuming it's a dirt road, paved road would be pretty weak

Yeah when you're on the SB side of the mountain its paved then it turns to dirt when you crest over the back side. The peak is perfect spot for a group photo. You can see out to the islands from there. Great spot. It's not a challenging road by any means but it will be a great ride.

Would you guys prefer a more challenging route instead? I just thought of a better one. I have this one which is a little tougher...

    http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U...629,-119.95594&spn=0.210474,0.307961&t=h&z=12

It's probably 85% dirt, there are a few creek crossings, 4wd is nice but 2wd is fine, and views are amazing. Also this way, we can do it as a loop instead of going to the reservoir and backtracking the same way we came. What do you guys think? I would much prefer this one now that I think about it. I think most you guys would too, especially those with new suspensions ;)

Oh ya, and I think 27th would be best too. In the morning preferably.

ah, it pops you out by the chumash for a little pit stop....:D just kidding i'm too poor to gamble. is the second trail a fire road? i'll do either trail, i'm open to whatever. i trust your judgement if you say the second one will be cooler and 4WD is not mandatory

That second route on w camino cielo looks pretty sweet. I shot a quick cruz up gibralter yesterday, it was chill with great views but left me wanting more.

2wd is definitely doable. I saw a rental Toyota Camry mobbin' over the top 1 day. I think this route will be more fun for everyone.
