Brought home my new 2020 TRD OR DCSB home with the 265/70R16 Goodyear Wranglers - All Terrain Adventure tires. These M+S rated tires are new but not three peaks "Winter" rated.

I see a lot of people with KO2's and am curios if they are tires to run year round?

I am considering putting a set on my factory 16x7" rims and later find a set of TRD Pro / style rims for the summer months or put the KO2's on Pro rims.

Also I believe this is the largest tire I can put on the stock vehicle with out rubbing issues.

Stock Tire Sizes 3rd Generation Tacoma's

    2020 Tacoma TRD SR & SR5 16" 245/75 R16

    2020 Tacoma TRD Off Road 16" 265/70 R16

    2020 Tacoma TRD Sport 17" 265/65 R17

    2020 Tacoma TRD Limited 18" 265/60 R18

I also saw that there are Skinny 33" Tires 255/85R16 that are supposed to not rub but the diameter is a 8% difference because the side wall is 1.23" taller. Not liking the speedometer difference either.

    Speedo Reading Actual Speed

    20 mph (32.19 km/h) 21.61 mph (34.77 km/h)
    25 mph (40.23 km/h) 27.01 mph (43.47 km/h)
    30 mph (48.28 km/h) 32.41 mph (52.16 km/h)
    35 mph (56.33 km/h) 37.81 mph (60.86 km/h)
    40 mph (64.37 km/h) 43.22 mph (69.55 km/h)
    45 mph (72.42 km/h) 48.62 mph (78.24 km/h)
    50 mph (80.47 km/h) 54.02 mph (86.94 km/h)
    55 mph (88.51 km/h) 59.42 mph (95.63 km/h)
    60 mph (96.56 km/h) 64.82 mph (104.32 km/h)
    65 mph (104.61 km/h) 70.23 mph (113.02 km/h)

I also see the popular size 285/75/R16 but that is a 7.3% difference in diameter, 7.5% in width and side wall height is up 1.11 inches. The speedometer is way out too!

    Speedo Reading Actual Speed

    20 mph (32.19 km/h) 21.45 mph (34.53 km/h)
    25 mph (40.23 km/h) 26.82 mph (43.16 km/h)
    30 mph (48.28 km/h) 32.18 mph (51.79 km/h)
    35 mph (56.33 km/h) 37.54 mph (60.42 km/h)
    40 mph (64.37 km/h) 42.91 mph (69.05 km/h)
    45 mph (72.42 km/h) 48.27 mph (77.68 km/h)
    50 mph (80.47 km/h) 53.63 mph (86.32 km/h)
    55 mph (88.51 km/h) 59.00 mph (94.95 km/h)
    60 mph (96.56 km/h) 64.36 mph (103.58 km/h)
    65 mph (104.61 km/h) 69.72 mph (112.21 km/h)

Would I be correct in say it is best to use stock tire sizes with a stock suspension.

Nothing like going off topic on your own post!

I ran them on my Jeep all year. Great all around tire, in snow too. Will probably try the General Grabbers on my 2020 TRD Sport. 265/70/17 is what I'm seeing as a safe tire with no suspension mods.

People love to complain about them all the time here but I have had zero issues with them in the snow. Used to live in Idaho so they got a lot of snow use up there and never let me down. Though I still preferred with wife's car when it had snow tires. AWD and snow tires were a killer combo for getting around on snow packed roads.

Another vote for all year round. However there's no substitute for good driving and some added weight in the bed

I'm use to running factory all seasons (M+S) and ice tires in the winter months. It has always been important to take the "soft" winters tires off before the warm temperatures wear them away. The KO2's being winter rated is the reason I ask if your run them all year round. So far I have seen KO2's on winter steel rims, KO2's on 2019, 16" Pro rims last spring. Seeing a new set of factory Good Year Wranglers for sale with only 100 km or 60 miles on them for $500 CDN on KIJIJI made wonder about the Wranglers. The parts manager said he would not give $250 for them made me think I should be dumping my factory tires and going for a set of KO2's. So I plan to get a set of Pro or Pro style rims and put KO2's on them and maybe switch out the factory tire and rims in the summer. Leaving the option to switch back to the KO2 set for adventures. The 16" factory rims are only 7" wide which means the largest tire size I can use with no lift is 265/75R16 (1.04" taller than stock 265/70R16) with possible rubbing on mud flaps. now down the road if you decide to lift the Tacoma 3" front and 2" rear and go for the 285/75R16 KO2 you will need a rim that is 7.5" to 9.0" for that tire, same for the 17" rim with 285/70R17 KO2 tire. Any lift less than 3" will still only allow the 265/75R16 KO2 to be used without rubbing as with no lift. I determined for me that getting the rims first is a step in the right direction to allow for a lift and larger tires in the future. If I decide to stay at stock height the stock 16" rims will do just fine.

Note that the maximum 18" tire with no lift should be 265/65R18 for 1.04" taller and keeping factory width. (Need 7.5" - 9.5" wide rim for this size KO2) <--- technically a 0.52" tire lift

and that the maximum 18" tire with 2" or less lift should be 275/65R18 for 1.56" taller and .39" wider width. (Need 7.5" - 9.0" wide rim for this size KO2)

Thanks to all that replied above.

I run them all year long. I like them better than the dura tracs I had. Seem to balance better

Maybe not a good direct comparison, but I ran BFG KO tires (not KO2s) on my old Chevy (pic to the left) for several years, year-round. No complaints, very good all-around tires.

Run duratracs in the winter, terra graps g2 in the summer on separate wheels. So far this setup has been great
