Toyo mT open country . Nitto and Toyo same company only the Toyo have a less squared tread. Better tire on Road and off. Had both on my Rubicon and would never get Nitto again.Deep Snow Jk.jpg Trail grapplers failed me here, however Warn did not.

    Duratrac 285/70/17
Icon stage 3 , lots of trimming and cab mount chop. Icons cranked almost to icon's max recommendations.20160920_190946.jpgLook into Duratrac, aggressive tread but considered an all terrain, better in rain and snow.

And if you do not off road in mud then don't buy MTs. Not only are they loud but normally do not perform well on the road especially in rain. They are not the best snow tires and really suck on ice. The Cooper STTs are suppose to be some of the quietist. I have run a lot of different MTs and not one had good street manners. Also they do not wear well and you really need to rotate more often. I tested a set of MTRs a few years ago and could have had at a Duratrac price. I turned them in for the Duratracs even though MTRs at a Duratrac price is a great deal.

My Stt Pro's are fine in the rain. Any tire is going to suck on ice unless its studded.

There is a difference between fine and good. You are correct about ice. None are good but MTs are the worst. My point is MTs have a purpose and I would not buy a tire for looks. Of course some people buy a 4x4 for looks. Tacoma owners are lucky they can get the looks without buying a 4x4.
