you can lift from lower points on the truck like a skid plate or under the lower control arm, which makes it less likely to tip. when i return to the desert of the south (florida), i'm getting one and building a plate for it like the engage ones. still keeping the hilift though because the floor jack will not always work.

That and you dont need to deal with preventing the tires from drooping because u can lift from right under the axle.

I ratchet strap it pretty much always so i dont have to lift it very high.

this is true. i was getting close lifting the rear end from the slider

and even if you do have the height on the lift, it never hurts to strap the axle to keep it lower in the climbing bar.

yea, I just throw the jack either under the LCA/cross member or the rear axle and it jacks up in 3-4 strokes, and the skid plate makes it stable in rough terrain, plus the whole thing weighs less than a hi-lift

Its not exactly how stable the bumper is but more so the highet the highlift will lift it. My 60 inch jack runs out of room quick when i lift from the sliders or the body so i ratchet strap the axle to the frame so i dont get any droop. So i can actually lift it enough to change a tire.

ahh thats what ill do when ever i get longer shocks.

i have to go all the way to the top of my jack to get the rear off the ground.

never thought of strapping the rear.

Pretty safe in the desert and sand too. Most guys who are serious about prerunning have a floor jack with a skid plate base.
