Yeah, if the SHO is any idea of how the new F-150 will be... My parent just bought a SHO and I drove it the other day. HOLY SHIT!

Is the OP looking to buy a brand new truck?

As all have gas engines, and none have been noted with anything special transmission wise, IMO I'd opt for the Ford or Chevy. Either, properly geared will handle the tow/haul well.
Personal preference would lean toward the Ford. Engine and transmissions in these rigs are designed to do what you want. Plenty of power and geared to do the job. Probably slightly lower fuel mileage than say the Tundra (when unloaded). This would be due to truck weight and gearing. Put some significant weight behind any of them and they they will all be about the same.
Pulling, again IMO would lend itself to the Ford or Chevy with the lowest gears. I know Ford comes with 3.73 and 4.10 or something very close. The first lends itself better in fuel mileage and the other towing capability.
If your only dealing with towing occasionally I'd probably opt for the 3.73. However, if you are doing serious hauling, mountains, etc., your better off with a gear to do the job.
    Just my thoughts.

This is a very good point, look out for 4:10 gearing if you plan to run the highway. These are common with 3/4 ton and 1 ton gas powered rigs and they eat gas like you wouldn't believe. They have a lot of low end grunt but scream on the highway. Just something to be weary of. Honestly, I'd consider a slightly used diesel, at least for comparison purposes. There's nothing like a diesel to tow with. Regardless, I'd stay away from the 4:10 gearing.

Toyota or chevy. The 5.7 pulls hard, soo much power feeling. And its got great breaks, ive drivin them multiple times. I also like Chevy, they have great motors and even though they have name of "government motors" i still think they have quality. Ford, no way

The new F250's with 6.2 V8 come equipped with 3.73 gearing rated at around 12,500 lbs towing or 19,000 GCWR and a 6 speed transmission which should help a bit with fuel mileage and towing gearing. They do make a 4.30 gear axle ratio as well which bumps the towing capacity to 15,000lbs and 22,500 GCWR respectively.

Sorry, I wouldn't buy anything from "buyout" motors. At least Ford had the foresight prepare for the future, rather than beg for money. They are the one American owned car company that would get my $$$! F' GM!

PS I would have bought the Ford before the buyout. I always wanted the F-250 SD crew cab short bed w/ a V-10 manual, but I drive way too much! If I had the coin, I would be all over a 2011 Raptor!

i voted for the Tundra. looks the best and will last the longest

btw, FORD stands for Fix Or Repair Daily. i can personally say this is true because my dad has a '99 explorer thats already having lot of problems and my uncle has a 2000 F-150 thats starting to have slight problems. not too sure but if you ask me, FORD's not very reliable in my book
