Ahhh yes this is a good point on the valving. They are a digressive so they get softer as you drive faster right? and then iirc the others were the opposite or progressive. Someone correct me please if i mixed those up

The Toytecs blew out after a year. To be fair it was a low end unit and I drive too fast on washboard.

The Fox lasted a week and were leaking from a hose. I contacted Fox and they said send us the shocks and x dollars and we will review. They wanted money for a warranty issue. I will never use Fox again.

    Your results may vary.

EDIT: I like Toytec as a company. I have other products from them and they have good customer service.

EMBARRASSMENT EDIT: Just looked and Toytec does not carry those products anymore.

There is also the Ironman foam cells. So far I’ve liked mine but have not been off road with them. Others have taken them off road and enjoyed them. They are not high end like your talking about but you can get an entire kit for 2-25k or less on sale or 2800 for everything and armor. I’m not sure if they’re considered progressive or digressive. They get stock pretty often. Might be worth a look- https://ironman4x4america.com/categ...=pricedesc&Make=Toyota&Model=Tacoma&Year=2020

You got it. Digressive tends to ride a bit more stiff on small choppy stuff, progressive is smoother all around. On some Kings we sell, we have to swap the Digressive Piston for a Linear piston to get a better ride.

stock stats? Not sure what you mean

Oh yeah, I forgot about those. When properly tuned, those seem to be the best oem replacement coilover for performance.

Running the desert and rough stuff fast, I've never had anyone at anything other than holy shit these are nice. Plus onroad the cornering is way better.

After blowing out the stock OR bilsteins several times in less than 10k miles, I’ve had three aftermarket units on my truck.

I ran the icons for a minute and hated them. Had issues with leaks on the rear and never liked they way they felt….no matter how much I fucked with them I could never get the rear to feel settled.

I ran a second aftermarket brand and had an issue due to a manufacturing defect and their service and support was excellent. Once addressed, they performed admirably, but I was not 100% happy with all aspects of their performance no matter how much I fucked and futzed with them.

I decided to switch to Dobinson’s in January and they have so far been bomb proof. I was a little surprised considering the price point and and some minor fit and finish issues.

Since January I have wheeled almost every week….from climbing to crawling and these things feel solid, take the hits and smooth out the severely wash boarded forest service roads. I’m going to put a set on our t4r and 80 this summer.

Are they flashy? Nope? Do they have the parking lot cred that some other brands do? Nope. Could they fail tomorrow because I just jinxed them? Probably. But I have beat these things to shit and so far they are taking it.

Icons are digressive so better handling/cornering and bumps overall. Others are more specific for whooping. Really depends on how you drive.
