Bought my '15 DC O/R not even a week and i could not believe how many times i have been asked why not wait for the '16 by friends and foes!

    #1...I LOVE MY NEW T0YTAC0...!

3rd gen Taco will live on with it own identity but, I am not ready for change just yet. In the world of today advance technology I just want a simpler truck in the Taco. My wife adores her Prius: from the push start button to the the solar roof and all the crazy infotainment stuffs that i don't wish for but it came in with my truck.
No, not me! My truck has more horses than i can ride and for the MPG thing...that is what the wife "Prius" for. Peace!
    Am I alone on this?

You're definitely not alone man, I love my 2015 SR5!

And I've never been a fan of getting a brand new product when it first comes out, that's when all the kinks in the design are going to show up. Just my $0.02. :p

I love my 2013. I like the idea of simple old fashioned no frills trucks as well but I am pretty happy with bluetooth and heated seats. A better argument for late 2nd gens for me is their proven track record and bullet proof drivetrain.

I'm with Blood on this! I'd rather have the last of the good ones than to have the First of the unknown.

Same here, just bought a 2015. Is it perfect? No. But I know what I'm getting and that is a lot better than a big question mark for me. The little common issues are known, mostly worked out, there is a solid aftermarket already, etc.

It seems like we have had a lot of new members here who have just bought a new 2015, so it seems like the sentiment is pretty much the same with a lot of people. Many are concerned about the "new" factor which includes risk that they don't have with a proven design.
    Congrats with your truck OP.

I brought home my 2015 AC last night!

What I have seen of the 2016s, I don't really care for the body style changes - not my style. Also, always leery about buying a "new" model vehicle. I'd rather not be someone else's beta tester.

Also, don't care for the all the electronic babysitters.

    Love my '15!

Bought my 2015 after the 2016 was released, no concerns. Love it just like I loved my 2008 and 2011. These trucks are proven and still look great. Too many what if's with the 2016 and although I love the new interior can't get past the ugly ass front end. Glad to have the last of a good generation.

Same. That's why I bought a 2015 just a few weeks ago. I knew I'd want a new one soon, and didn't want to get even the first two years of the next generation.

I think many feel the same about the "unknown" of how the 2016's will perform. Personally, I think mechanically they will be OK once the bugs get worked out, I just can't get over the ugly body style. 2nd gen till the end for me.

I owned a last year 1st Gen Tacoma and now a last year 2nd Gen Tacoma. Both rock steady as their designs were fully matured. Maybe I'll buy a last year 3rd Gen whenever that is?

I contemplated the 16 for awhile, but I just could not warm up to the looks of 3rd generation. My 15 is also more of a "toy" for me at this stage of my life and I think there are far more venders, aftermarket parts and mods currently available for the 2nd gen.

I looked at the 2016 and thought "not bad". Then looked at a 2015 and thought "wow, I really like it". So, of course I bought a 2015.

The *ONLY* thing that made me almost wait for the 2016s was the push button start. My previous vehicle had the "touch the door handles to unlock" and the push botton start feature. Never ever had to fish my keys out of my pocket. It was great.

... but, that alone wasn't worth purchasing a 2016 with an unproven engine and a bunch of fancy electronics that are just going to break eventually.

There is something to be said about simplicity and proven reliability. Also -- I just think the Gen 2s (especially the recent ones) look better than the 2016 redesign. I am sure the 2016 will eventually grow on me, but I am happy with my 2015 and plan to keep it for at least 5 or 6 years.

Atomic powered engine swap, because spaceship.
I pulled the trigger on a 15 on Monday. I'm not interested in a first year transmission and engine. I love the sand color, but in 2 years, I could just buy another new truck.
