I love my 2015 sport. I wanted something simple that I could work on without using two laptops and five different cables. I have 2 bmws for that. You need an engineering degree to change a light bulb.

Bought my 2015 AC OR last October and now have 10K miles on it.

No issues, no complaints, no wishing for the 2016 updates.

I will be driving it for a nice long while.

Just traded in my 06 for a 15 a few weeks ago. It was a prerunner and I needed a 4x4. Thought really hard about hanging on until next year just to see. Unlike others the looks don't bother me (its a truck). Like others, I don't like the idea of getting the first ones off the line. But.... they are also dealing pretty nicely on the new 15s and my guess is tha 16s will list higher and go for close to list for the first year. My guess is that I saved 4-5K over a similarly equipped 16. I really didn't want to wait two more years for things to settle down. Its really hard to loose with these 2nd gen trucks. My fairly low mileage 08 is worth close to 85% of what I paid for it 7 years ago and the dealer has it listed for actually MORE than I paid for it 7 years ago. If I really like the 3rd gens I can get one in a few years.

I had a 2005 DCSB TRD Off Road......worked it hard for almost 100K and never had a single issue.

On a previously proven engine in Toyota's lineup. New engine for 2016 for the Tacoma and for Toyota (yes based on other engine tech in current lineup) and let's be honest more tech leads to more bugs. Not saying it won't be a solid truck, its a Toyota, but its gonna have some growing pains.

I'm diving in head first, the day they hit the lots.

We should have a TW contest. First member to get a 2016 wins the internet.

Awesome responses! The sell points of the truck for me not only because of the last year of the 2nd gen, but also the changes that might go into the new '16. Like the EPS, push start button, cartridge filter etc...Others might have different opinions. Like most fans I don't know much about the '16 nor have seen it in person yet. The drivetrain is my most fearsome for the first year. However, I do trust that Toyota will go above and beyond their will to carry on the Tacoma's nameplate.

Third verse same as the first. I picked up my 2015 five days ago.

Proven dependable design, I shouldn't have hardly any trouble getting a spare set of rims out of the salvage yard so I can keep studs mounted for winter and etc. The 3rd party vendors pretty well have the accessories figured out. I reasonably expect ten years out of this truck, 15 is likely and I might get 20 years, racking up a whopping 1k miles per month.

I do agree a first year of production 2016/ 3rd gen Tacoma is a pretty low risk thing to be the first on your block to own, but I'll stick with the known winner for this one.

Love my 2012 and would defenitly get a 2015 over a 2016(3rd generation).2016 to me doesn't look like a Tacoma or a Toyota for that matter.Maybe it will grow on me and all of us.The new 2016 interior dash is a Ford in my opinion as well as some of the exterior body look.Enjoy your 2015 cause i love my 2012!
