This week at work, a friend of mine approached me eating cashews. He told me his wife read that eating cashews makes you happy.

I asked him to have his wife research what type of nuts make you bitter and miserable so we could ban them from our site.

It was much funnier in person...

My first response would be to say "Well I guess they're not working, because I have just become overwhelmed with feelings of irritation for being interrupted"

Your workplace and my workplace sound like different worlds.

At my workplace there are only two types of people:

People who are crazy and freely admit it, and people who are crazy and deny it.

The ones who deny it are the ones you have to watch out for.

    (more workplace humor)

Not too different then. Most of the people I talk to understand eachother and we're all very comfortable to say whatever we want. That kind of humor is expected and encouraged, at least among the people I work directly with. The place i used to work...yeah, they were insane

Ain't this the truth. There was a time when "truck" men and women bought them. These days so many "non truck" people buy them because it's the cool thing to do.

You wake up on a fine Saturday morning and step out on to your driveway with your cup-o-coffee in hand. You look to your left and see your neighbor washing his bright red F150. You look to your right and see your other neighbor just getting back from Home Depot in his TRD Taco with a load of lumber to finish up that deck project he's been working on the last couple of weekends. Then you look across the street see a couple loading up their bikes, kayaks and camping gear into their Chevy Colorado.

Suddenly that BMW 3 series doesn't seem as cool. And that trip to Lowes to pick up those bags of mulch is a pain in the ass....not to mention you have ZERO street cred with a squatting 3 series with a trunk of mulch that you can't even close the deck on. And even worse....it's humiliating to be one of "those guys" who rolls down the windows to stick a load of 2x4s in with them sticking 3 feet out the driver's side window.

You can't use the wife’s minivan for any of that because last time she said it smelled like shit for a week and you forgot to put the rear seats back in when you were done.

So what to do? Buy a truck. Never owned one. But think of all the shit I could do with it. So off to the dealership you go. You feel manly. Your balls are a little bigger. You crank up Disturbed on the radio 'cause you're a real man now.

But after few weeks, the initial chub wears off and the realities of inexperience and unrealistic expectations set in.

What the f**k? Why doesn't this thing handle like my 3 series? Why does it get shitty gas mileage? Why is there wind noise on the highway (despite the aerodynamics of a brick). Why is it hard to turn in 4 wheel drive?

    Then.....they end up here.

Actually...strike that. Without these, the 3rd gen forum might be considered sane....we can't have that. We have a reputation to uphold

Funny thing this car engine runs circles around the 4.0 once moving. Passing times are insane on the 3.5, the 4.0 just bogs. Never try to pass one on the interstate in a 2nd gen unless it's a friend that allows it.
The gauntlet tow is proof with the 3.5 coming in almost a full minute faster then the boggy 4.0. I could have a couple of beers while waiting for it.
Big deal the 4.0 gets a couple of truck lengths in the beginning off the line before 3.5 catches up and passes. That's where it ends.

I’m just happy you kept those fender flare abominations to yourselves.

    Thanks!

Got 1990 written all over it. Sometimes I even wear my Def Leppard Hysteria world tour half shirt when I drive. Never mind it's 3 sizes too small theses days.

My rig has 4 wheel tires and a seatbelt chime that goes solid. All inclusive. That dealer really sold me
