Why all the locked threads?

It seems like every thread trying to be positive about about 3rd gens gets instantly locked?

Why is that?

Is it just because they get out of hand?

To be honest, if they didn't keep getting locked... they wouldn't keep popping up over and over.

They get locked because a certain sect of the membership can't keep their shit together and act like adults.

They get locked because people seem to enjoy baiting certain members knowing full well they will not be backed into a corner.

They get locked because some people are so over sensitive that if you don't continually fluff their ego they can't function.

They get locked because certain members like to take their digs on this generation of Tacoma even though they've never owned or probably ever driven one.

 

Or because folks come in starting threads to bait the haters. And it works.

Stuff like, "Just bought my 3rd gen! Put 5 miles on it so far and it is better than a Carrera GT!"

Then folks start in from there. You can usually tell where a thread is going to go by simply reading the OP.

 

Then just move on, nobody forcing anyone to read threads or post in them- right?

 

Because unfortunately a select few on here like to stir the pot.. I just wish the whole "my truck is better" because I have a Gen 3 or Gen 2 thing would die already.. But that's wishful thinking.

So why wouldn't the people who aren't able to control themselves be put in their place instead of all these Ops having their threads shut down....? Wouldn't it work better to further reduce the issues in the future if the problem makers actions were addressed?

They are. Haven't you noticed the abundance of forced vacations around here lately? Mods are on it. I think they had hoped we'd sort it out ourselves or it would blow over. Since an abundant about can't control themselves the mods are taking over.

The forum is for us, the members. Bob and the mods didn't create it for their own amusement. Hell the majority of them don't even post in the open.

Why take something fun that was given to you and continually shit all over it? We're all Toyota truck enthusiasts. All of us. Year of the truck shouldn't matter. That's how a community operates. Everybody don't have to like everybody but you keep it together for the good of the whole.

So, time to shit or get off the pot, people. Do you want a fun place to hang out with an incredibly loose leash while you're here?

Or do you want to be over-moderated to the point that you're scared to post anything? I'll tell you the mods don't want this. It's hard work being a moderator. I've done it. It's thankless and completely voluntary. Why make their life harder than it needs to be?

It's our choice. At least unless we keep fucking it up and the mods make it for us.
