Plus, I'm not sure why people complain so much about the sh!tposting (both sides) here. Yes some threads become derailed but TW has given us an ignore button.

If you don't like a poster then just click (as tough as it is) the ignore button for them...

It doesn't work like that. People are asked to become a moderator based on their cunt to not-a-cunt ratio.

Don't stay silent. Report posts if you feel they're out of line. Just make sure you're not being over-sensitive. Enough people legit complain about a member and they'll be dealt with.


Also, ignore the trolls. They just want attention. Don't give them any and they'll eventually move on.

 

Lol. Not butthurt over sensitive. Just answering the OP's question as I have seen it. I think it sucks that the forum is going the direction my old brewing forum went. 30% positive posts to 70% negative posts.

As I said, I've been on forums for awhile and when they get to be less enjoyable over more enjoyable, I wander back to my other interests in forums--shooting/reloading and beer brewing. TW is < enjoyable right now.

 

Homebrewtalk went through a similar episode back when I was on it.

Negative/positive post are like good/bad news, good news is nice, but bad news filled with fearful acts sells, negative post filled with horrible performance gets all the attention

 

I wasn't saying that you are over-sensitive. I was advising members in general to take a second and check themselves. I see too many people blow up over someone's comment when read objectively you can see someone was making a joke.

Basically, unless you specifically know a member is a problem then give them the benefit of the doubt.

3rd gen forum is going to get cleaned up. They're actively working on it.
