I bet the other reason is you see full size trucks getting low to mid 20’s and then people wonder why a truck that is smaller with less power gets worse fuel economy. People don’t realize that a truck is far from aerodynamic and it takes a lot of power just to keep them rolling. A smaller motor is working harder which is why the mpg is worse. My 325hp F-150 averages 23mpg and that’s real world mileage by me.

To add to this I'm willing to take hits of mileage and power in exchange for reliability

Yea the rams might do better on mileage than my taco on E rated all terrains but my truck won't be in the shop every other month

    I drive 27500 miles a year, roughly.

At 30mpg and current gas prices of $3.25, that’s $2979 per year.

    At 20mpg and $3.25, it’s $4469 per year.

    At 15mpg it’s $5958 per year.

I can think of a lot of better places to spend $1500 than at the gas pump. I need and want a truck, so I’m ok at 20mpg. 22mpg would save me $400 a year...

This right here. Most other manufactures have worked to improve MPG. Not Toyota. At least in their trucks. My F150 gets between 20-22 with very little interstate driving and doesnt have an automatic transmission that cant stay in gear. Hell, my F150 gets better gas mileage in town driving than my wifes Highlander.

    4 run, 2 don't
My Taco gets the worst gas mileage from all 4 of my cars and I still drive it every day :annoyed:

Can't do anything about gas prices, especially here in CA. I just drive the truck more often cause it's fun.

Well, actually you manually input mileage/fuel cost/gallons so it doesn’t necessarily track you.

But I stopped using it, idgaf about fuel economy anymore. I like flooring my slow ass trok for funsies
