Can't wait for the Tacoma Prime. And I'm expecting carbon fiber. I'm not sure where. I'm just expecting it.

I can believe it. My ac v6 auto driven at a staidly 65-70 mph averages 23 mpg. If driven on secondary highways at 50-55 mph its almost 24 mpg. City /highway mix 22.5 mpg. Rpm on tach rarely exceed 2k....only on steep grades it may jump higher.

I get only 17-18 mpg because I drive 5 miles to work on surface streets. Freeway is 7 miles but no change in mpg.

well the gen 1 is 3277 pounds the gen 2 is 4220 pounds and the gen 3 is 4480 pounds (all 4x4) so you cant really compare mpg. and are you actually figuring out the mpg because the dash mpg is notoriously incorrect.
and yes a roof rack can easily steal 2-3 mpgs.

Last 4 tanks of gas. Each was reset at pump after fill-ups. Ignore the 29.1, was late resetting that one. So 23+mpg, all commute in town miles and Homedepot trips every weekend, 90deg most days, ac always on. "Ugly" chin spoiler intact, ETC always on, trans thermostat pinned open year round.

I think your a bit heavy with the gen3 , at least with the trim i have. As far as the dash gauge...i did actual checking on this. That dash gauge on my truck was within a couple tenths of actual. I think it depends whether you take a long enough trip or not. I compared mine doing a 180 trip mostly highway.

Agreed, very accurate in my truck too, it always hand calculates within +/- .1 or .2.

Seriously I'm just learning how to work on this thing.
I basically am so far gone from caring about the MPG. 2005 Tacoma, pretty stock but I drive the way I want to drive. I probably get 14mpg average, a lot of city and when I hit the highway I cruise at 70 or above. Anyway, gas is so cheap, I’d be an idiot to worry about it, right? haha

Thats what i find also, So after 2 years of doing the math i have stoped because i don't give a shit about .1 or .2 off. What is that like 3 or 4 miles PER TANK off !
Just hit 2 long lights every tank and you have waisted that fuel.

Do people really care if there off by that little?

Just so you know i have a short 7 mile 25~40 mph and takes 15 min to work and i get 17.5 to 20

And i can't believe i responded to ANOTHER stupid MPG thread.. :ballchain:

Bummer, i did the same 50.5 mile round trip this afternoon with the air on both ways...was it hot out. I looked at the mileage gauge ...was down to 22.4. I attribute it down a tenth due having the air on.
