Just bought a 2016 White Tacoma SR5. I'd really like to put some black fender guards but am noticing that the price tag just is not worth it. Does anyone have a link to a less expensive solution?

Plastidip spray on. Take off the flares and put a few coats on. It is pretty durable and if scratches or peels off just put another coat on.

OP, OEM flares require you to drill holes in your fenders, and bed sides.

Did not know this... this somewhat changes my mind on the idea. I thought they were just 3M adhesived on

3M , and plastic push in clips. 8 to 10 per flare, holes are around 1/4 to 3/8.

Just my opinion, but your truck looks not right without them. I don't think ive seen a Canadian taco without flares, maybe its required here or something. You should definitely get some regardless of the drilling. You wont want to go back trust me.

This makes no sense. He doesn't have flares. He wants to add them. He also posted a pic of his Taco clearly showing he has no flares.

how about bushwackers? They bolt on without having to drill holes.

you can install oem flares without drilling. I did it. It works. Search for a thread about it. You will see that many of us have done it... the 3m adhesive and screws on the lower edge of the flare will hold it well.

I think they look great better, if they are painted match the color of the truck.
There are some pictures of people here with them and they look excellent. Factory flares look too skinny imo, almost like Ridgeline engineers put them on. :crapstorm:
2nd gen flares were bigger and looked better imo.

Check this guys build out with bigger flares. Looks great.

Thanks everyone for replying. I own a 1st gen, owned a 2nd gen, and now have a 3rd gen that I will slowly but surely make changes to as time goes on and needs come up. I was interested in the stock flares just for looks, but I know I will be doing suspension and upgrading wheels and will wait till that day comes. I really appreciate all the input. Cheers!
