Well, if you saw the engineering that goes into a windshield sun reflector, you would understand how only yuppies and simpletons would be suckered into paying its outrageous <$10 price tag.

Keeping warm is a metrosexual city dweller thing anyways.

Real men spend nothing on comfort and rough it.

Icicles on the testicles is a small price to pay to be truly manly.

Not sure why, but i just got the cvt mt Rainer summit rtt, and man its heavy duty, lots of small details and its heavy, so i am sure it's built to last the long haul. I have a couple ground tents, and after a couple uses the fabric tends to rip, nothing bad.

When somewhere in the thread the RTT suddenly became the habitat of the overpaid Metrosexual.

I thought I wanted a RTT, but after reading what some of you folks say, I wouldn't want some one to think that way about me. Bad enough I, as some said, already own an over priced truck.

    even for hiking.
Wait are you saying you cover with one or lay it under you?

For cover ya mylar is probably better. But in winter camp I put some reflectix under my sleeping pad and find it makes a pretty decent difference.

Nah he's right, on heavily used rivers the powers that be want you to piss in the river. Keeps campsites from stinking to high heaven and pee doesn't really affect water quality. Heck, some cultures drink their pee. Not to mention all the animals that are already pissing and shitting in the river. But human poop yes needs to stay far away from the river's edge. Farther than 100 feet would be better, too.
