If you are only 48, why do they call you old?

IMO, the only reason for running a wheel larger than a 15 is to clear larger calipers, like a tundra upgrade.

I needed new tires for my new 02 tacoma so after doing a bunch of reading I decided on switching to 15s. I also really like the look of more tire than wheel.

If you wheel hard enough to notice a .5" difference in sidewall (top of the tire ain't gonna help you), respek. 17" + is pretty much standard for all full size trucks and tire deals come up a lot more for 33's and 35's.

    17's w/ 285/70's looking cute

16s have limited all terrain tire options in 285.. they are all E rated.. so basically duratracs..

17s tires are more expensive but you can at least get C rated 285s.. if weight is a factor to you..

I'm basically torn on the 16 or 17 SCS F5, or the 16 FN five star matte black 3.5 back spacing..

bought TRD PRO sema 17s for the tacoma and they just didn't look right to me on the truck.. so back to square one..

So I should do 16 rims on my 1st gen better than 17 rims

Not a huge deal - everyone's got a different opinion - if you want bigger brakes 17 will make sure they fit, but if you want to stick to 31's 16's maybe a more aesthetically pleasing look, but if you like 17's that'll work too. I like my 31's and 16's on my 2nd gen, but ultimately I could get a good deal for scratched ray10's in 17's and have 17" tires in the sizes I'm looking for come up in my location a lot.

17s work just fine. And 265/70/17 is one of the most common sizes I think, no difficulty with tire selection

I don’t have a lift kit all stock it won’t touch my fender I don’t want tore it all up? I should be good with 265/70/17 I don’t want it to hitting inside of my truck

They're basically the same diameter as 265/75/16's which I believe fit - but don't quote me on that.
