Why are there so many 1st and 2nd gen haters of 3rd gen here

That's not 100% true. You can buy something because you think it's the best option based on what's available at the time, and still have criticism over certain aspects of it, like design.

1st and 2nd gen owners have learned all they can from tacomaworld.com and have their trucks just how they want them, but still log on to tacomaworld.com. They still need to have an outlet and 3rd gen will not be accepted till proven.

Once proven the hate will stop. But, just like society has 5% non conformist who cause 90% of issues, so will tacomaworld.com. my advice, deal with it. But make no mistake
...this site has valuable information. Even 3rd gen post have proven that vinyl b-pillars can be paled off, 1 up tires are a no problem fit, and other stuff and things man.

I'm all about the third gen, but I would own all three if possible and if rust free (lol)

lol, I hope you are joking...I sense that you are. I'm not jealous, read my other posts...I'm going to buy something out right in the next few weeks, and feel the 4R is my best option (and guess what, it costs more). I was hoping to like the new Taco better...thought about the Canyon, but am going to go with the Runner.....so am I jealous? ummmm no...but I think you're joking anyway.

Based on the photos, I thought it looked terrible and really different. In real life, it's not that extreme. But pair the looks with less-than-hoped-for HP and worse-than-expected mpg and there's a definite meh factor. I'm sure we'll all get used to it, but in a sector that is much more crowded than it was two years ago, in the first truly new model in ten years, there's not as much pure awesomeness as many of us had hoped. Certainly nothing there is making me itch to trade in my '10. But if I had to get a new truck tomorrow, I'd give a '16 a fair look.

Seems to me the immature ones are the 3rd gen lovers! Why are you guys so sensitive over anyone that criticizes the truck? You act like you build it yourself....taking it way too personal.

And I don't hate the truck one bit... just think they botched the front-end styling...overall though, it's pretty sweet.

Maybe people are haters because of how much better the Chevy Colorado drives over the '16 Tacoma, and gets +1mpg better.
Maybe because they shafted so many would be Tacoma owners on limited model configurations for both Canada/USA.
Maybe people are frustrated at +10 years of being able to work on the next generation Tacoma, and realistically get a lackluster Gen 2.5.
Maybe people want the truck to look like a truck and NOT like a Subaru, or a Ford, etc....
Maybe Maybe Maybe.... list goes on.

Both sides need to get a grip. It's just a truck. Just because you own one doesn't make you elite and just because you don't like it doesn't mean its 100% a piece of crap. Neither does it mean people can't have positive or negative opinions either.

    For the record I'm indifferent.

I think Tacoma owners take change real hard. Any kind of change. After a while when very one has had a chance to ride or dive a new one....then the real fun begins. We won't be just guessing anymore that the 3G .....just f'n sucks. :smack:

I really did not like the new tacomas when I saw them online. That's what why I'm driving a 15(had a 13 before this) I finally got to see a few in person. once I start seeing them on the street after a year or so they will probably grow on me. I won't be getting rid of my 15 for one. I love this truck, and imo the 2nd gen really is a better looking, that's just my opinion tho.
Here's a few pics of different models I saw.

And just to add, I can comfortably afford a 16, but I'll be keeping my 15

@Dagosa I can agree. If it aint broke, dont fix it. Yet they were caught off guard with the Colorado/Canyon... Go drive one. I just test drove both Manual/Auto 3.5L v6 Tacomas, and the 3.6L Auto Colorado, and I can tell you, the Colorado felt more like a truck, shifted great, quiet interior. Im not saying they got everything right on the Colorado, but it drives a whole lot better than the '16 Tacoma. WHY THE HECK DOES A DAMN TRUCK NOT HAVE TORQUE DOWN LOW...... Obviously GM shows us that in the Colorado, you can get +1 mpg better, and still have it perform like a truck should. ... Torque through out power band and not some 3500RPM+ TQ/HP Curve...

I'm going to have to agree with you on that. Considering I just went out and picked up a new 2016 myself. The new Tacoma was never a consideration and I doubt I'd buy any Tacoma newer than 2005. To me, the 2001-2004 Tacomas were the best ones Toyota offered. I'd get a tundra or another 4Runner before a Tacoma.

However, I'm quite happy in my 2016 I picked up.

Being that most adults are overgrown children (except with money) who piss and moan when they don't get their way, get insulted, and/ or don't accept the ways of the new world vs. their old antequated ways, does it really surprise you some people on here act as childish and immature as they do?
