out here on business again. Driving around LA and San Diego. I see a Tacoma on the road here every two minutes. WAY more than I see on the east coast. Makes me realize why Toyota started their release of vehicles out here then worked their way east.

Does anyone have any idea why the Tacoma is so much more popular out west?

Because there are a whole lot more places to go offroading out there would be my guess having been raised in NJ leaving at 18 for SD, California where I bought my first 4x4 Tacoma. After moving back to the South East Coast, the only thing I did not need was the 4WD part.

Here in SC there are far far more full size Off road 4X4 trucks....Far far more. F150s Sierras,GMC RAms, Hell on my street there are representations of only full size. I have a RAM across the street, an F250 next door, a Tundra next to that, Another Ram across from them....Tacomas are literally "toys" here. Maybe that's why we have more discounting Toyota Dealers when compared to the West.

No doubt Arizona is loaded with Gen2's and Gen3's as well, it always seemed to me no matter what you did to your ride, "johnny" had you one up..sort of bothered me but I always got over it because I Knew my truck was bad ass and would go anywhere "johnnies" would go....
    Enjoy your ride bro...

Because Tacomas are badass lol its becuz for one yes there are a lot more places to go and use these trucks for fun. Also becuz many people want the versatility of a truck but want better MPG. Small size trucks are a big deal this side of the states. And Tacomas are the best you can get.

    ???

I'd have to think it also has something to do with California making up ~12% of the US population but, only ~4% of the US land area. Seems logical that population density alone would account for more sightings let alone that the population is focused more in certain areas. Plus, I think buying habits are different geographically for several reason.

I love your inferno Taco!!!!! I looked at every dealer around me and they only carried Inferno for Tundras. Around me I've only spotted two. Guess it's true, Taco's are everywhere out west.

Idk about everyone else, but the OffRoad community seems really small out here in TN. I hardly see lifted truck let alone tacomas. If I see a truck, it's usually lowered with 22s.

Also, I think that their are more hillbillies in the east. (No offense) But most hillbillies are gung-ho CHEVY or FORD and everything else is Chinese crap to them.

Dodge Ram are everywhere here in southeast Illinois. 2016 Tacoma's are rare as hens teeth.

IMO, It would be interesting to see product sales by area. I think my area has as many (if not more) non-US named vehicles and of those the split seems about 50/50 between German & Japanese.
