That would be too easy. Toyota doesn't believe in easy.

Given my experiences with the 1st gen Titan, ask him what he feels about the truck in 3-5 years.

I'm guessing 2015 with rebate. The 2016s are just new on the lot. Big truck but the interior looks quite nice in person.

The 1st gen Titans here did have 13k rebate at one point with 0%... That's a sign of a good truck right? When you can't even get the money out of your truck that the big 3 can you are in trouble. Hence the second generation.

Depends on your needs. For my family and work needs there isn't a diesel on the market with the right combination of price, size, mpg, and reliability to get me to switch. Maybe one day. I don't care what fuel a truck burns, but the diesel Colorado is too small and the Ram is too unreliable to tempt me. I don't need the size or weight of a 3/4 ton either.

9200lbs vs 6800lbs doesn't seem quite the same. True on the payload, but heck, with all that extra towing capacity, you can put it on the trailer! And you have that comfy ride from those coil springs!

My buddy's '07 is still running great at 190k. Ran 14.9@91mph a few years ago too, since, you know, that's the best comparison for trucks. ;)

Last time I checked a full cab Ram Ecodiesel towed about 7k. I don't want to have to keep a trailer around lol, that's what the box is for. If I need a trailer it better be for more than 2000 lbs. I'm not a fan of the coils but that's just me.

Glad we agree it's not. The Titan rear end is not great long term. The other issues I think they mainly fixed over the years though.

Also, just about everyone making a half ton has one that runs a ~15 second quarter mile.

They do make some sturdy frames though, hardly any rust. And they have rear disc brakes.

Just messing with ya. We all have our preference.

Yep, Dodge has since '03 (Hemi introduction) and the Titan since '04. A decade later, the Taco still isn't. Probably would easy with the 4.6 V8...

    I'm done, I promise.

Honestly I prefer Ford and GM half tons. I'd like to see what the mid sized market looks like in 5 years though. It sounds like Ford and Fiat are coming. Fiat will be trail ready and Ford will likely out power the others with an Ecoboost. That should cause some healthy competition.

Rear end problems were mostly fixed in the '07 redesign. I don't tow very heavy loads so I shouldnt have a problem. I never keep my vehicles outside of warranty, so it's really a non issue for me.

I preferred the Ford as well, but the F150 XLT Sport 2.7ecoboost was $41,000 Canadian after rebates.

    My Titan was 34,000 OTD.

Toyota wanted $42,000 OTD for a 2016 Sport DCLB.

That's $34k with all taxes and fees in? If so that's a hell of a deal.

This is what I don't get about people going on and on about Tacoma price retention. If you are forced to pay a premium for the Tacoma but can get a deal like what Vantage seems to have with another make and model then really it washes out in the end.
