Actually, the 16’s didnt come with a power back window. Came standard in the higher trims in 2017.

I think all trims have it now. My coworker has an SR5 with the power window.

I think SR still has the plain window.

And WHY any one would buy a tacoma for almost the same price as a tundra..really. 50k out the door with spray on bed liner trd dual exhaust and trd cold intake AND 10 year 125k bumper to bumper factory toyota warrinty. And 0.9 financing for 5 years. Yes the leveling kit and rims and tires are seperate. I speak from experience. I sold my 2009 tacoma right after i bought my tundra bought new in 2009. My tacoma had 89000 miles sold for 20k in 2 days. Dont get me wrong loved my tacoma not 1 problem BUT know would never go back after my tundra. Besides the new gen tacoma suck.

One more thing my car insurance only went up 13 bucks a month on my tundra compared to my tacoma full coverage. I was shocked my ins triple a said because the tundra is safer in a collsion. Yes I hate the mpg 13 but my tacoma was getting around 16 17. But when u compare the value the tundra is the way to go. And resale is just behind the tacoma. And the cab space no comparison. I have the crew max it's no joke compared to my 4 door tacoma. And right now 0 percent financing on 2019 tundra for 5 years. Try getting that on a tacoma. Run the numbers for more power more room the tundra is a better value.

I actually don't like the big sliding rear glass, looking like it would give you a headache most of the time as airflow would be a bit too much. As it is between the sunroof and sliding rear glass I get optimal airflow on a nice day.

The air flow is minimal I don't have a sunroof. If I open my driver side window and the rear slider it's just right. Open all the windows and the rear window yes it's like being in a wind tunnel. But as far as dust as other members said yes if ur going down a dirt road but on pavement none. The sound is very minimal with the rear window down I hear my tires more than anything. Toyo MTs. But it's nothing crazy.

A Mod seems unlikely. Every 4Runner has this as well. Loved it on my 4th gen. Great for air flow. Even better for dogs.

My 2019 SR5 Access cab has the manual slider. That's OK by me. I very seldom use it, and can reach it from the driver's seat if I want to.

    1. They're not the same price
    2. Not everyone wants or need a full size truck (bigger does not mean better in this case)
    3. The tundra is tired, design is outdated and frankly, it's the ugliest full size on the market. Scratch that, second ugliest after that new Silverado abomination

I think that sums it up. Sounds like it was a good choice for you though

Pssssst, Tacomas will always be cooler

That big Tundra window seems like a much more efficient way to fill my interior with mulch than blowing it thru the tiny slider I have now.

The thing I want most in my Taco from the Tundra is the 5.7L motor.

This is why I am hesitant to let go my first gen tundra and buy a 2020 tacoma. Easily transport 16ft composite deck boards with rear window rolled down.

Yes you are correct, mathematically it "could" or may leak just like the other four windows and the sunroof, I would be interested to know how many Tundra owners have experienced leakage. With that being said I still wish it was an option on the Tacoma and yes, I would get it. IMO: Driver side A-Pillar grab handle and the rear "Tundra power window" are the two items missing from my truck that I would use everyday. Maybe the 4th Gen in 2026 will have it...LOL.
