yeah, but you can't get that done without the ECU re-flash and trashing the factory mats.

I have found that rude and ignorant comments 99% of the time are because it's a very commonly asked question and the OP has not searched before asking. The other 1% here are just jerks.

Now compared to my subaru forum (nasioc) where 30-40% of the people are jerks who make stupid comments, TW is looking pretty good

    so ignore it ...

fwiw, if you know the biggest tire that will fit on an '07 Sport, which is quicker, typing the tire size into the dialog box and helping a new member out, or bitching about the "search function?"

I'm on a lot of boards ... cars, trucks, motorcycles, guns, midget amputees in negligee,

and most forum members are happy to help out newbies and even journeymen with a quick answer when they're in the know

on only a few boards, usually the boards with lots of young'uns, do members pointedly direct the OP to the "search function"

it's a web board, not a military school

be a sport, it doesn't cost you anything, it makes folks feel welcome, and encourages folks to participate and enjoy like-minded activities like wrenching, riding, off-roading, and spinning scantily clad amputee midgets

it's easier to help than it is to be a dick, so why not?

Yes, but this was answered on page 1 and I believe was copied to page 2 as to why the search button is usually much better.

Oh and Im sure the youngness factor has nothing to do with it go to NASIOC and post up a question asking about stock tires and I bet its the 30-50 year olds who kick you off in a matter of 5mins.

Maybe TW should open up a Newbie Tech forum like some other forums. and have the search function totally skip the nebie tech section, then all the search nazis can just skip anything form that area and the helpful people can answer their questions without flaming...

And along the way of finding one's answer one will gather a whole bunch of information related to the subject. Not to mention that it helps to lessen the congestion on the forum and ultimately make it easier for others to find things through their searches.
