Well... technically, it was invented by Lucas, along with the intermittent headlight, and ignition system, and charging system. But Ford "perfected" the intermittent wiper and it became a standard feature on nearly all of their cars long before other manufacturers figured out how to do it without stepping on Ford's patent.

I remember being jazzed that my '88 Topaz had it, but my wife's '90 Geo Storm did not have it.

wasn't the intermittent wiper invented by Robert Kearns? portrayed by Greg Kinear in the movie Flash of Genius.
